Bonus Update: Azeri Wolfe
I need a small break from my own modding, so I thought I'd go ahead and try playing Azerbaijan one of the finest EU3 mods that Paradox Plaza has to offer: STEPPE WOLFE. This mod allows you to play EU3 from 11 AD - 2100 AD, but Azerbaijan is available earliest 1991 so I'm starting in 1991.
Loading up Azerbaijan, the first thing I discover is that STEPPE WOLFE accurately depicts the cultural confusion that occured during Azerbaijan's independence when everyone in the country forgot that they weren't Armenian.

As a modern nation state, we are settled civilization and our sir is in the age of modern age. Progress!

Azerbaijan is a bit backwards and doesn't know what most of the world looks like, but fortunately I get an event that gives me a lot of maps. Unfortunately the event also crashes the game, so I have to start over.

After starting over, I play around with my religion for a while. After a stint as Australian Pagan Believers, I decided to return to the one true faith: Tolerance.

Being a Republic is boring. I find the guy with the snazziest hat and make him King.
[thumb]http://www.shardsofdalaya.com/images/azeri_lp/eu3/steppeWLOFE/06.png[/thumb]
Apparently it was a really snazzy hat because all of a sudden a lot of different countries want to marry me. I'm obviously the coolest country.

I get the option to issue an government securities, so I go for it.
[thumb]http://www.shardsofdalaya.com/images/azeri_lp/eu3/steppeWLOFE/11.png[/thumb]
In fact, I issue LOTS of an government securities. Everyone likes securities.

Ever since I became a monarchy, all the other countries are trying to become cool by copying me. Armenia isn't cool enough to be a Kingdom though, so they turn into a Duchy.

Japan tires of being a modern state and decides to return to being a humble Daimyo...

... while the USSR has decided to solve its nationalist issues by restoring the Tsardom.

Meanwhile, Turkey is having a bit of an identity crisis, switching between calling themselves Turkey and claiming the title of 13th-century Beylik of Danishmend every few days or so.

Tzar Gorbachev is getting old and lacks heirs, so I marry into the USSR and claim their throne, which results in a Personal Union before the end of the year.

With the forces of communism now united under the dual monarchy of Azerbaijan-USSR, it is time to unite all Armenians under the banner of the Armenian Kingdom of Azerbaijan.

Things are heating up in other parts of the world, with Great Britain launching a campaign of conquest against the Holy Land and Mexico deciding that what it really needs to compete economically with the US is colonies in Sudan.

With the world such an unsafe place, I make everyone feel safe by issuing lots of an securities.

With Turkey in the war and the Soviet Halbadiers preventing escape by sea, victory against Armenia and Georgia is inevitable.
[thumb]http://www.shardsofdalaya.com/images/azeri_lp/eu3/steppeWLOFE/28.png[/thumb]
At this point the game crashed and when I loaded up the autosave all the wars were missing, so I had to declare war and siege Armenia all over again. Eventually I annex them though.

Having misplaced their war with Israel somewhere in the save, Great Britain decides to go for some Swedish colonies instead.
[thumb]http://www.shardsofdalaya.com/images/azeri_lp/eu3/steppeWLOFE/31.png[/thumb]
Back in Azerbaijan, the glory of nodynasty is greatly strengthened by finding that Julius Caesar somehow had a kid in Azerbaijan. The news are so overwhelming that they crash the game, and all saves from the last four years refuse to load.
[thumb]http://www.shardsofdalaya.com/images/azeri_lp/eu3/steppeWLOFE/33.png[/thumb]
Thus ends the tale of the Armenian Azerbaijan, Wolfe of the Caucasus, Tzar of the Comintern.
Not with a whimper, but a crash.

My god... it sounds glorious.
And I love Wiz so that just helps.
GUYS THIS IS THE BEST UPDATE TO THE GAME SO FAR!
YOU CAN MAKE IT SO THAT COUNCIL MEMBERS ARE FORBIDDEN TO LEAD ARMIES
But can females serve as council yet?
Probably, but if it doesn't then there's always a mod (forgot the name of it right now) that allows them to be in every council position.
No but it's an easy matter to change that. In "common/job_titles.txt" it has an allow set of parameters which you can simply remove the "is_female = no" from.
Funnily enough it seems that while all other jobs are male only, you can have a female spymaster provided they are your mother or your wife. Seems fair enough.
A bit more randomness in the size of the rebel reinforcements in civil wars
If this means that they won't become fucking 100k every time then YES.

I know, but the AI doesnt' account for it and stuff. I just wish they'd add it for some positions, like steward maybe. It doesn't make sense I can get accounting advice from my 20 steward wife (via event), but I'm stuck with a 4 steward retard because I have no vassals and no money.
I got to 1484 as Poortugal.
My explorer finally died after 34 years of endless service, charting more of world than every other human combined in history.
He discovered so much I got rid of the quest for the new world NI because it was effectively useless.
RIP Jose Manuel Coelho. ;_;7
My greatest explorer was my Bavarian playthrough, in which I expanded out and colonized the African seaboard. My explorer was a legend, he explored the new world and the eastern world. Proved that the US was reachable by way of China, etc. He took men up into Mongol territory for the glory of my crown (and subsequently lost every single man, sans 40) and he even was ship wrecked several times and miraculously survived. He and his platoons of troops were slaughtered by Natives in South America, and he even had to run through enemy French territory in South America to get a port to transport him back to Bavaria. After most of the world had been discovered, I gave him a position as a head officer over a platoon that watched over my penal colony. He stayed in service for the last thirty or so years of his life, never once did those bastard prisoners rebel against him.
Somebody needs to hurry up and mod the Aztecs to be playable in the new dlc.
But can females serve as council yet?
They can be Spymasters IIRC
does anyone have a mirror for this steppewolf mod, gamefront is dead and the one on thier own site where you have to sign up for links to gamefront too.
Will the "foreign conqueror" relation penalty ever go away? I have had it for ages now.
Will the "foreign conqueror" relation penalty ever go away? I have had it for ages now.
You need to replace those fellows with ones of your own culture.
You need to replace those fellows with ones of your own culture.
Yeah, i learned that far too late i'm afraid. More than half of my dukes are foreign, and it's causing me more and more trouble. I'm trying to weed them out, but it's tough when civil war constantly breaks out. Atleast my bloody terrible king is dead.
When that happens, educate their children with someone of your culture.
If I wasn't completely retarded and knew how to code I'd love to make a mod that has the CSA in World War II.
Currently doing a playthrough of Vicky 2 with the Fantasia mod, great fun!
Playing as Columbia and getting my ass whooped by those fucking Calgarians and Utahns. California be my bro.

Seriously fuck Calgary and Utah, they both manage to gain really large army stacks somehow and mine always lose battles. I'm also practically broke 24/7, only reason I'm in positive budget (in that picture atleast) is because my army and national stockpile budgets are 0 and i think my tariff is like 16%. Taxation from population hardly gets me any money at all, even at 100% taxation for the poor. Main incomes are the Tariff and my factories.
What does the Fantasia mod do exactly?
Does that work with AHD?
[editline]16th November 2012[/editline]
What does the Fantasia mod do exactly?
From reading the forum's post, it makes all nations just 1 region and lets you colonize no matter what (unless it's claimed already of course)
It's a shame Fantasia doesn't have an AHD version, shit would be so much more cash.
It's a shame Fantasia doesn't have an AHD version, shit would be so much more cash.
Aw man. Have they thought of making it for AHD?
A guy is currently porting it over, judging from the last couple pages of the thread.
A guy is currently porting it over, judging from the last couple pages of the thread.
I thought it was already released for AHD? Somehow a friend of mine tried getting Fantasia and ended up downloading the AHD version instead, so, it has to be somewhere.

Thank God.
When that happens, educate their children with someone of your culture.
won't you have to watch like all the probable heirs in your realm so you can snap them up immediately as they turn 6, otherwise someone else will educate them?
won't you have to watch like all the probable heirs in your realm so you can snap them up immediately as they turn 6, otherwise someone else will educate them?
Doesn't have to be 6 on the dot. If you can't educate them quick enough, then you can ask for wardship later after bribing them with gifts to get relations up first.
Huh I never saw the option once they were someone's ward. It just wasn't there anymore.

It's there!
