In my game, it's about 1240, and the Mongols have stopped, the HRE has reformed and taken Scotland from the Aztecs, who are being crusaded against.
It's boring now.
In my game, the golden horde got crushed by the Ilkhanate and the Ilkhanate is probably going to have a good time crushing Europe.
I've gotten the moral authority of Catholicism down to 20, been playing as Scotland and appointed an antipope as soon as I could.

Oh and these soldiers of the Ilkhanate decided to go on holiday to the Canaries.

Hey guys
I think Australia's Defcon is at 4
Quick question, I was kind of messing around with Crusader Kings II, and had my son, heir to the kingdom of wales, get the title of Kingdom of Jerusalem. He had the most points in the Crusade, but he didn't actually capture any lands (captured the war leader got 100% warscore). Anyways, he was the Duke of Tuscany, so now Tuscany is titled Kingdom of Jerusalem, trying to figure out why.

He made Jerusalem his primary title. Happens all the time.

But he didn't have any land claims, can you just name yourself a King and your whole area changes?

You can be the Emperor of Uranus as long as you got the title.

Sit down on my lap and I'll explain the feudal struture to you, lad.
So there's these guys called Barons, Mayors, and Bishops, they're the subjects of Counts.
Now Counts, own county's, a district of land.
Counts are ruled over by a Duke, who also has power over the subjects of the Count.
Now the head man in this equation, is usually the King, he has supreme authority over all the subjects under him, and so and so.
Now because he got a kingdom, he put the Duchy as a secondary title. In time, when your main character dies, your son will inherit Wales and have a dual monarchy. I recommend using Wales as a financial center, build up the money makers in the holds you own and gift your son money occasionally. For one to hold Jerusalem, they need military might, and a wallet to gain military might.

Also, to ensure that you can't fuck up the Realm, try to make it so there's Primogentive succession.
It requires medium or high crown authority.

Primogeniture is high. I WOULD recommend going for Elective until you can secure a high authority, but that doesn't work too well for dual monarchies.
I too can vouch for going for Elective secession, it's simply the best. And in my experience, it's not all that difficult to hold onto dual monarchies with it.
I'm not a fan of Elective.
Sure, you always have the dynasty in power with it, but the thing is, you can't really control your heir, and by generation 3 or 4, you should have super skilled offspring.
Thanks guys!
Elective Monarchies can get strange, as rather than having my talented son elected to be the next Kaiser of the Holy Roman Empire his inbred, moronic cousin twice removed got it instead. He didn't have a single skill above 5.
The Holy Roman Empire pretty much instantly collapsed within ten years.

This is what plots are for. Gotta kill off all the competitors, make sure nobody else even has a chance.

I got sloppy and didn't tie up any loose ends. How was I supposed to know I had an inbred hick cousin in the ass end of Germany
I love succession and independence wars. I have taken enough of Armenia from the Seljuks to form the kingdom and haven't been at war with the Sultan once.
Now to expand into the Byzantines and work on preparing for the mongol hordes. What's best against their doomstacks, as many men as I can muster?

You get a drop-down warning when anybody else is gonna win the election and you'll lose your titles. You should also check those things.
Well, Paradox isn't. They're publishing a commissioned mod made by super dedicated modders.
They're finally making a Hearts of Iron set during the cold war? FUCK YES!
BL-Logic, not Paradox, is making it. The same people that did Arsenal of Democracy based off HoI2.

Yeah, I wasn't really prepared as my Emperor died suddenly while he was still relatively young. I don't know, maybe a Comet was sighted or something.
Aren't all countries supposed to be allowed to colonize in A Fantasia Divided?
Because that's not happening and it makes everything boring and easy being the only country around with real land.
So was playing the Game of Thrones mod as Oldtown, started a couple years before the clash of kings, married my heir to Dany targ, five generations later, some guys randomly declare civil war to make one of my heirs King of the iron throne :v:
I never even asked for this!

And then as soon as you sit upon the Iron Throne the entire country rebels and everyone dies
[editline]29th November 2012[/editline]
EVERYONE
Well. Was like 15 years.
What -is- so special about Arsenal of Democracy anyway? All it looked like to me was a slightly different looking HoI2.
It's basically more balancedHoi2 with some improvements, just get Darkest Hour if you're going to get a HoI2.

Uhm. Thanks for the 200 gold, pope.

they cant join my server anymore, they always used to be able to do that
any ideas?
this is eu3 btw
apparently i can join their server but they cant join mine (hamachi).
the problem is that it desyncs whenever they host, and then it crashes.
any suggestions?
this has been occuring since the latest hamachi update when they changed the ip from 5. to 25.

A lot of people have been having that problem, I don't think there's any solution other than just finding another program.
So there's a new version of the 5.2 beta patch that came out today.
- Fixed a rare OOS issue in multiplayer.
- Tooltip for unit weight is now taking present armies into consideration properly.
- Fixed a bug which caused moving units to get attrition where only retreating should.
- Position cap penalty depends on guns/guns on your best bigship.
- Changing country tag should now keep league status.
- Warexhaustion from attrition & combat have been increased by 20%.
- Minimum position can now go down to 0, while manuever increases amount allowed before penalty.
- Truce now lasts ten years.
- Rebels that have "friends" now use the max-morale of the friend if higher.
- Ottoman Empire now takes National Conscripts as the first idea.
- Recruiting Crisis event will now be able to happen.
- Our Fleet is the Pride of the Nation will no longer happen if you don't have any ships.
- Military Development will no longer happen if you are already maximum quality.
- Fixed a few events that could happen when they shouldn't.
- Conquer missions will not be given when in a regency.
- Discover Madeira mission fixed.
- Naval Rival mission fixed.
- Some spelling and localisation fixes done.
