All Final Fantasy games suck.
/thread
Blitzball was ass in X-2. It was perfectly fine in the first one.
Every Final Fantasy game has pretty much the same plot. Some massive dark evil power threatens the world, and for some reason, you and your friends are the only ones capable of taking it down. Which happens to be the plot of 99% of jrpgs Or there's Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, where the plot is "We've somehow ended up in some strange fantasy world. We need to get home!" "Why? Everything is so much cooler here, and your paraplegic brother can walk and leads an active successful life now. We were unpopular schoolkids in the real world." "Yeah but I'm a dick. We're goin home"
I enjoyed X more than any other in the series. I bought a few after X but they sucked compared to it. Also the developers are milking the series to death pinching every penny they can. They should have stopped at X and made something new.
The fact that the series is still going after over 12 fucking games is either a testament to how amazong the whole series is, or how retarded the fans are. I'm gonna go with the latter.
I still liked the music lol
I enjoyed X (for the most part I just let it all go, having already given up hope on FF after 8), but damn the final battle was a let down. Lemme just throw a phoenix down on ya and end the game. Only good part of that entire gauntlet was the battle with Jeht.
ROFL, I totally forgot about the last boss. I killed him by accident xD. Normally before I go into a boss battle I re-equip my characters with different weapons, seeing as bosses are immune to most states. Auron still had his normal zombifying sword equiped. So as soon as I hit him with Auron I was like, "whoa is he zombified... does that mean I can just throw a pheonix down on him and its over?" And I did, and he died. I was totally amazed and I thought it something must have messed up on my game. But after some quick google's I was like... I guess its not just me. So yeah it was disappointing, but after fighting all my Aoen's ( bonus ones too ) I was a slightly glad getting to see the ending. ( I wasn't to big a fan of the battle system, I liked it, but I sure didn't love it ). [editline]04:27AM[/editline]
I enjoyed X more than any other in the series. One thing I should point out, is that very few of the games are actually directly related to each other. They really only bare the same name and game style. And now in future developments even different game styles are being looked at. That being said, I don't think they should stop making final fantasy's. It rakes in the cash, we need as gamers need to realize that companies need money. But I do think that Square Enix should maybe broaden the horizon. Maybe make a series with a new "name" a new "game style" a new everything. I think they have the talent on their development teams, but they just seem to play it safe with the whole Final Fantasy thing. At one point we all think "Man the FF series is done, time to move on" and then one will come out that we totally adore and love. But the fact of the matter is they do need to need to venture a bit more with their development. Whether that means leaving FF or just making another series or just a new game in general. Take some risks! I respect those indie developers who come out with something totally new and unique, and it comes to even more of a surprise when we get some first party enhancements going on too. All in all, FF is far from dead, whether you want it to be or not. It's set the standards for good old fashion RPG's since 1987. And most that want it to die are people who don't enjoy a modern game with classical concepts based on storytelling. I'm not picking on anyone, but I think that some of us have general standards and if we go into a game expecting this or expecting that and it doesn't deliver than we instantly think bad of it. As for me and the more dedicated gamers we see games for more than what we payed or what we got from the game. You can tell when hard work and dedication is put into games, and I can't think of one Final Fantasy with crappy production value, even if the game sucked, I respect it for what it is... I like the fact that you can see how most RPG's work, but if we really think about it, we can base most if not all games back to this concept. Your either saving the world, or your saving yourself. And if most games are based on this concept, than what separates games? Answer: Storytelling, the way you have bits and pieces weaved into the story, having settings as your threads, and characters as your dyes. And when you put it together you get something beautiful. You see its not about trying to make everything literal or real, because in reality games are nothing but a bunch of 1's and 0's in groups of 8 travelling over a processor. Or a bunch of tiny squares known as pixels. Or some crappy animations consisting of virtual polygons. As gamers we should get the best of our experience be realizing that what we play isn't real and therefor shouldn't be literalized. But we should see them as concepts, paintings on a canvas if you will. Because most if not all paintings are painted on canvases, and what separates them. Answer: The painting itself, not the canvas

Are you guys kidding? I played FF7, FF8, FF10 and FF12. I loved them all, except FF12.
i love ffx :saddowns:
I somehow disliked X but ended up finishing X-2
I thought i was the only one. I couldn't beat Sin, he was a fucking asshole and killed me EVERY MOTHER FUCKING TIME
I thought i was the only one. I couldn't beat Sin, he was a fucking asshole and killed me EVERY MOTHER FUCKING TIME
You have no idea!!! Took me 2 weeks to beat him, only to find out, that right after I have to fight again ( all my aoens ), without a save. And fighting the bonus Aoens is like getting a slap right in the dink. Which is why I was thankful that the last boss was such a joke, which it was ( pheonix down him to death xD ).
I like Final Fantasy IX the most out of all of them just seems like an all around funner game and the best thing is it has no emo fags in it
Well I actually did play FFX all the way to the end (just beat it a few months ago) and I didn't really think it was so hard. I think I over-prepared for it. I did a bit of grinding before going in to the final battle, stocked up on phoenix :downs: and had a handful of ultimate weapons. I didn't have Tidus' ultimate weapon because fuck chocobo racing. I didn't have Wakka's ultimate weapon because fuck blitzball. I did have Yuna's ultimate weapon. If I remember right, she had the ability that makes everything cost 1 MP, and doublecast, and ultima. Extreme power class. Also full-life and auto-life. I didn't have Kimahri's ultimate weapon because fuck Kimahri. I had Auron's ultimate weapon, so he was pretty useful, but not so much as the others. I had Lulu's ulimate weapon, and she was easily the strongest character because of it. She had the 1 MP for everything ability, but she also had the double magic power ability, and doublecast, and ultima, and the highest magic attack of any character I had. I had Rikku's ultimate weapon, but she was never a very useful fighter. Mostly just there to steal shit and earn us lots of money, which did not help in the final boss fight.
Final Fantasy Tactics (not Advance) had the best story.
I wasted 50 hours of my life playing this and the ending was horrible, even if it was what I hoped for. I hated Tidus so much that I named him Faggot in my game. My biggest complaint about the whole game, besides the storyline and clothing, is the fact that all of the gameplay is dependent on luck. There is no skill to be learned in this game, you can only hope you win, nothing more.
It took you 50 hours to realise you didnt like it?
Why did I get so many dumb ratings for saying FFX was terrible? Do you all think I'm one of those Final Fantasy haters or something? I loved FF7, 8 and 9. FF7 is my favourite game ever, hands down. Despite that, FFX was terrible. The storyline sucked, the voice acting was painfully bad and the horrible writing didn't exactly help. That sphere system thing was completely fucked. Blitzball was retarded. The main enemy was a fag. Seriously that game had no redeeming features.

FFX was great, but compared to 6-9 I didn't think it was that good story-wise.
Despite that, FF7 was terrible. The storyline sucked, the voice acting was nonexistent and the horrible writing didn't exactly help.
voice acting..? what
I really enjoyed it, and had i not broke my PS2, i would probably be playing it again now. Killed Penance twice :D
I loved FFX but hated FFXII I think Vaan might be the biggest whiner in any FF game ever made. I have still never finished it because I can't stand the ridiculous story (I wanna be a space pirate!!!)

The lack of voice acting allowed for the story to be so big and deep because they didn't have to hire shitty voice actors to read out the masses of text. The writing was way ahead of its time. The materia system worked perfectly and is the only system in a Final Fantasy game to do that. Who the fuck even did Chocobo breading? It was pointless and wasn't involved in the storyline at all. The main enemy is legendary. The game is built on redeeming features.
If you say so. v:smile:v
It took you 50 hours to realise you didnt like it?
Took that long for my 360 to arrive. Don't underestimate what someone can do when they're bored.

I have still never finished it because I can't stand the ridiculous story (I wanna be a space pirate!!!)
Ok first off guys, the whole whiny main character thing is really dumb. Yes both Tidus and Vaan are definitely not the most hardened characters. But thats what allows for great character development. And when I think about it, Tidus never really had a father for his life, and when you start the game he gets sucked into the future, being told he is crazy by a local guy ( who sounds like a surfer ) on this island, and not knowing if his past was even real! I would say he has some valid reason to be a bit of a whiner. That being said, the character development was really good, the story really changed the characters through the game. Tidus was quite the pansy at the beginning. But as the story progressed if you really wanted the best bang for you buck, you would have noticed the small and usually unnoticed things that the characters do. That being said, Yuna was quite a bit more courageous than Tidus, but hey, it made the game that much more interesting. So stop whining about whiny main characters! You really only magnify it by only talking about it. As far as Vaan goes, he is just a wee little boy.

You can say he had good character development, or a good story, or whatever the fuck you want - the other characters were not only ten times more enjoyable (and probably deeper) but their voice actors didn't make me want to put an drill to the front of my head. In short, it might be opinion, but I still hated Tidus. And Vaan is just unforgivably stupid.
FF9 was my favorite
