Artful dodging + Dual Wielding + Master of Arms + Burglary + Archaeology + melee weapon of choice + anything else is what I'm having the most luck with.

and the lord did grin
I tried playing with some sort of assassin, only specialising in rogue things (along with blades.) But I died pretty quickly.
Now I tried making some kind of holy knight. Everything you would expect for a warrior plus smithing and Astral Magic or whatever it's name.
The aura thing is damn useful. but I pretty much suck at magic, otherwise. The fact taht heavy armor lowers my magic doesnt help.
Though am suriving very well, now.
Hmm my build should have included vampirism as i get buffed when taking damage.
This pleases me!

I suspect that just like every non tank/damage build a rogue build is hard at start, but with the right equipment it will be impressive later on.

I took absolutely no defense items or perks at start.
I could 1-3 hit just about every normal mob right from the start. Most were 1 hitted, but some of the more tougher ones needed a couple more hits.
Bosses not counted, those are assholes with this build.

You'd be playing a rogue wrong if you had defense items on :v
You need evasion over block and enemy misses over your accuracy.
I do wonder how well it works though. There is some gear for rogues, but you'd need to be lucky to get it. And i doubt a full rogue can dodge more thank a tank can block. But maybe there are some perks that help with that. I don't know as i am full block.
*picture of animal zoo*
What.
That's why I always save those acid puddle arrows.
They kill themselves while running at me, or at least heavily injure themselves. I killed an entire zoo with just a few of those bolts.
I just got killed by a giant green squid thing on level 2
I managed to clear out a monster zoo on the 3rd floor.
Sure, not much of an achievement but this is only my 3rd character. :v:
The Plastic Ore description is hilarious.
Raw plastic ore mined from dumpsters and along the roadsides, by brave dwarven miners.
It looks like trash.
What does "This translation is all wrong!" do? I'm tempted to use it on my fedora that has like 10 different buffs but im not sure if it gets rid of them or adds more.
you need to tithe 26 pieces of lutefisk to recieve a reward from the lutefisk statue.

It rerolls the name and all the stats. Only use it if you already hate the current stats or plan to get rid of it, because nine out of ten times it just makes it worse.
Not sure if you can cast it multiple times on the same item.

It's random. More lutefisk means you have a better chance to get something, I think.

it always gives me an item at 26 lutefisk. never less. any higher than that is still a guaranteed item.
also i found a way to get out of brax's shop without paying. where do i report bugs?
retested my theory, didn't work. probably a coincidence that i got 3 items in a row by tithing 26 lutefisk.
This game looks great-- in fact, i've just bought it. Anyone got any tips for a new player?
Crossbows would be great if bolts weren't so goddamned impossible to find.
As a Norwegian i find the whole lutefisk thing hilarious
Just cleared my first zoo, and indeed it's really easy, all you need is good cover (and lots of food and drinks).
now I need to find more booze, though.

everytime you die you learn new things about the game

Don't be afraid to run away. If there is an enemy that is going to kill you, two steps away, eat food, and run away. It will be right on your heels, but you will gain health.
Also, traps are actually pretty good (when you know where they are). Lead the enemy into them.

It's part of the fun to find out things for yourself. But if you have questions i am sure you can get them answered here.

I once found 2 linked pads on the exact same tile.
Also anyone know the feel of not being able to find a shop on a new game?

There's loot all over the whole dungeon and I can't sell it, god damnit.
How do you mod in monsters? I saw someone mention it earlier.
Okay, never put a lutefisk block inside a lutefisk block, it causes a massive explosion. :v:
Everytime I read this thread, the more I want it D:
How do you mod in monsters? I saw someone mention it earlier.
Steamapps/common/dungeons of dreadmor/game/monDB.XML has all the monster's stuff in it. Make a back up before you change anything, obviously, I have yet to poke at any other files in there.
