Okay, never click "Just quit" on permadeath mode. I had only walked a few steps and thought there was no point in saving if I wanted to take a break for a while. Turns out it deletes your save. :smithicide:

After I had trouble getting through the first three levels without dying, I decided to lower the difficulty to Dwarf and turn off permadeath. Now the game is a lot more fun. What are you guys currently rocking in terms of difficulty?

I have it on easiest because I'm a noob
I'm on easy with permadeath off, all I really want to do right now is find cool loot.
I just got into it and have been doing medium and perma death, but after a recent retarded death (got crit for more than half my health by a sidequest boss, right after i beat a monster zoo and got good loot) i'm going to try it without permadeath for a bit
Pretty fun, got to floor 3 on Elvish, then died trying to disarm a trap.

Hmm...I wonder if the explosion from a cube-in-cube situation would at all help with a monster zoo..

I rocked Random and got Swords, Viking Magic, Beserker Rage, Assassination, Shields, Archaeology and Alchemy. I can basically one-hit everything with my like 11 piercing damage sword, I can only not one-hit Deths, which are still two-hits. Easy on Permadeath mode though.
Here's Mine: I tried to for a huge damage per hit character so i could one shot everything. [img]http://gyazo.com/bec3d920af20476b74e5fefe7926651a.png[/img] and i just learned that with smelting one ore makes 2 bars. if i knew that i wouldn't have sold my ore. FUCK!
Dual wielding, swords, Assassination, Deadshot, Berserker Rage, Burglary, master at arms fuck magic acquire swords

Staves and dual wield? lol One of the staves skills is actually wielding a staff with two hands. you'r screwd. :v: Also, I don't advise guys to take both the men of arms skill and magic skills. Since heavy armor greatly lowers your magic potential.

My most powerfull adventurer (a tank) was pretty boring once I could one hit everything with my uber stuff, so I went ahead and made a noobie rogue instead.
Dredmor was on level 10 for me. I'm not sure if it's random or anything. Is the 10th level the lowest you can get to?
After losing my warrior/rogue hybrid character to a Pumpkinn at level 4, I've decided my next character will be a wizard. Also, if you're not playing with permadeath on, you're doing it wrong.
Yep ten floors, eighth and ninth aren't that hard due to the awesome gear (I found) there.
