Haha well shit, I hauled ass out of there as soon as possible. Yeah there's a metric fuckton of these guys and I'm running out of useful throwable items as well as consumables.
My level 17 vampire-rogue guy died on the 6th floor to an acid arrow trap.
Goddamn traps really get ridiculous when you get deeper. It basically oneshot me. I didn't have any healing potions left.
Lesson learned, make sure you have a skill tree with a heal spell.
If you actually spend a lot of time in a level. You end up being a little bit "overleveld" for those monsters.
The xp becomes slow and you lvl slowly... Porblem is, if you go down to the next lvl, you will be already quite close to being "overleveled" there too, and the xp becomes quite low too....
But I want to explore the entire levels and leave no tile unchecked in case it has something interesting. :frown:

And this is why I love this game. It will always have something there to surprise you.
Got a level 9 mushroom rogue/warrior, and I am on the 4th or 5th floor. I encounter loads of Thrusties, Eelies and pumpkins.

I'm not very good at this game.

My last guy hit for 32 at the same level.
What are the most overpowered combination of skills?
My highest score is 1000, with a vampire with dual-maces.
I really suck, it'd be really appreciated if someone could give me the best possible skill combination.
OH FUCK GOD.
MONSTER ZOO
94 MONSTERS
SHORT ON FOOD
FUCK

Sword, vampirism, dual wield, dodge, burglary, weaponsmith, and assasination.
I own with this, like no fucking tomorrow.
oh well, 152424 points...level 5
I was doing so well with my golemancer/thief, I made long hallways out of the golemancer skill, and flooded them with the blade golems, I had 260,000 zorkmids by level 3, and awesome gear. Then I had the bright idea to accept a quest while running from a monster zoo, the platoon spawns in the next room, my only exit. Sandwiched.
Finally made it through level 3 killing stuff easily, accidentally open up a monster zoo, start shouting on ventrilo(push to talk on mouse4), the game suddenly makes me charge in there, I didn't have an invisibility potion to save my ass and I died :(. Is mouse4 bound to something moving or some shit?

Mouse1, mouse 3, mouse 4 and mouse5 does all move your character.
I usually do Swords, Dual Wielding, Berserk, Artful Dodger, Assassination, Perception, and Burglary. It's hard at the start, but once you get two good swords it's a piece of cake, especially since you can steal the best items in the game from shops.
I usually do Swords, Mushroom thingy, that defence thing, Archeology, assassination and Berserkers Rage.
I do quite well. Mushroom thingy allows you to grow mushrooms on bodies on the first level, and there is a mushroom that acts as vampirism for 20 turns or something, so vampirism isn't needed. Also, on level 2 you can summon a slime or something. And on the final one, you summon a pretty awesome mushroom monster.
My favorite setup would be:
Any weapon skill (I like swords, personally, but it doesn't really matter much)
Vampirism (heal by fighting or eating corpses)
Berserker (chance to get awesome buffs by fighting)
Assassination (useful passive attacks)
Dodger (not getting hit = fighting longer)
Armor wearer (Useful passive bonuses)
Fleshshaping (mostly for the heal. Other useful skills also)
Don't dualwield, use a shield. Dualwield is overkill, and the blocked hits will help you outlast strong hits as a vampire.
Go for a hybridish setup. Keep a balance between your armor value and your magic power. Magic power is important since it affects how much life you steal, but most heavy armor or shields give a penalty to it. Orbs are a good shield choice since they tend to give both armor and magic power.
Don't worry about gimmicks such as stealing or archeology. They're nice, but way overvalued. Money is easy to earn, and most artifacts don't give that much XP. Anvils are cool, but a big gamble.
This build is probably as cookie cutter as you can get.
Maces are pretty cool. they have a 6 block area special attack that also pushes stuff. And at random you knock back an enemy. Or that might be a beserker effect.
Archeology, [weapon of choice], dual weild, dodger, master of arms, perception and burglary is what I've had the most luck with, XP er'rywhere since you've got traps, It Belongs in a Museum! and decent combat ability.
The whole sound track is in the game files as .ogg's. Just saying
:v:
Yeah but I wanted to give the guy who made it some extra money cause I like it so much.
Here is a good tip for everyone. Do not piss of Brax. He hits, hard.
I'm liking this game so far.
Playing on perma-death or whatever it's called.
Also, don't put a horadric cube in a horadric cube.
Do you ever get more recipes to make new swords and such for smithing? What's the point in getting to smith level 5 when there's nothing that requires it?
Bought it, downloading now.
Watched TB's WTF is? on it, seems pretty fun.
I also bought the game because of TB.
Be warned though, the game will drain your soul.
And your parents.
I was just doing pretty well on a mace-wielder. Had killed a Monster House and had an awesome, Krong-buffed wrench for a weapon, and a necklace called an 'Abhuman porpoise.'
Guess what killed me? I let a buff wear off without noticing it'd drop me below zero health. :downs:
