It's not even worth picking up a lot of that to even sell because it's shit and you'll likely run into a bolt worth thousands.
Turn everything into Lutefisk. It's what I do. :v:
I once gave a Lutefisk statue about 90 Lutefisk. He died... In total I gave the statues about 200 or something.
What does donating to the lutefisk god do? I guess after a while it give you something in return?
Do you ever get more recipes to make new swords and such for smithing? What's the point in getting to smith level 5 when there's nothing that requires it?
I once found a recipe to make a sword with meat skewered on it. Didn't see the required level though.
I pick up every item, visit every room and kill every enemy, once I find a shop I'm going to do a few trips back and forth through those rooms to make sure I have everything.
But why pick up worthless shit? Selling it is a waste of time because you WILL find tons of things worth thousands. [editline]18th July 2011[/editline]
I once found a recipe to make a sword with meat skewered on it. It's a bit underwhelming at the moment.
I buy any artifacts that show up in the shops to use It Belongs in a Museum on, that burns through cash pretty fast.
Yeah, but those little things aren't even enough to help with that. I do the same thing and am rolling in money because of valuable bolts.
OH BOY, I bet this Uber Chest has some sweet loot. [thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9673253/UBERLoot.png[/thumb]
I once found a recipe to make a sword with meat skewered on it. Didn't see the required level though.
I found the sword. Went to an altar of Krom, and now I am insta killing everything this floor.

Played for like 15 minutes, leveled up, got killed by some machine thing with two drill arms in three turns. Aww yeah. Steam overlay doesn't work though.
Yeah, but those little things aren't even enough to help with that. I do the same thing and am rolling in money because of valuable bolts.
But this way I have lodsemone
But this way I have lodsemone
Well, then it's a tradeoff for filled inventory space I guess.
On that note, I've discovered you can open, say, an ingot grinder, put that ingot grinder into itself, and close the window. Doing so will just make it poof.

So I started a new game and I'm greeted with this.

Then head right and see this.

If you actually spend a lot of time in a level. You end up being a little bit "overleveld" for those monsters. The xp becomes slow and you lvl slowly... Porblem is, if you go down to the next lvl, you will be already quite close to being "overleveled" there too, and the xp becomes quite low too.... But I want to explore the entire levels and leave no tile unchecked in case it has something interesting. :frown:
What difficulty are YOU playing? I play on the hardest setting, and I'm reluctant to go down to level 2 even after exploring level 1 100% Never gone to a level lower than that
Played for like 15 minutes, leveled up, got killed by some machine thing with two drill arms in three turns. Aww yeah.
Do all sidequests on the floor before you go down. Seems like you went to floor 3 in 15 minutes. I wouldn't recommend that.
Enemies from lower floors can appear. Ones one below are more common and ones 2 below are pretty rare but happen. Don't know if it's intentional or not.
i love this game to death. any mods out for it yet?
i love this game to death. any mods out for it yet?
Last I checked mod tools arent released
Last I checked mod tools arent released
It doesn't need mod tools. You can mod almost anything by editing the .xml files in the game's folder.
Last I checked mod tools arent released
Even though they aren't, the code for adding items to the game is pretty simple actually.
Do all sidequests on the floor before you go down. Seems like you went to floor 3 in 15 minutes. I wouldn't recommend that.
Nope. Stayed on the first floor. Started again with the same skills, level 3 now. Haven't gotten close to dying yet, haven't fought any bosses.
Just found a diggle commando. I actually had to retreat and summon a dragon to distract it while I fireballed it. If I didn't have knightly leap I probably would have died. That skill is so useful for mages.
I tried to put a lutefisk box inside of another lutefisk box and it created an explosion :tinfoil:
Ahh, this game is great. I'm going to rage so hard when my current character dies.
I got to level 2, got 30,000 points, then got killed by some asshole robot Such is the story of Dredmor.
The first skill you unlock in unarmed combat is pretty exploitable. As long as you don't get cornered, you can kill any enemy with ease. That is until you run into later monsters who resist knockback. And I might be late in discovering this, but you can kick just about ANYTHING with that skill. Even moving the furniture around and stuff. Not only that, but you can kick TRAPS and they MOVE. Hallway blocked by a dwarven IED? Kick it out of the way! Arrow trap bothering you? Kick it down past a door, shut the door, and make as many disarm attempts as you want! So now I'm on level 2 and I just found a monster zoo with 97 monsters in it. I'm not sure if I'm prepared. I've got unarmed combat (with two shields) and Astrology. I've got the Buffalo Throw (or whatever it's called) and the spell that essentially places a land mine, and the one that creates a flash around me. My plan is to fill the hallways to the brim with those mine spells, leaving only a one-space path for me to walk, then either bottleneck all the monsters someplace while scarfing down food and potions, or try to shut several of them out using all the doors on the floor. I have a feeling that plan will be harder to implement though, since they're likely to block the doorways. Also there's no way to bypass this zoo. I COULD go straight to level 3, but I hardly explored any of level 2 at all, so I'd likely get murdered [editline]18th July 2011[/editline] Well, I'm opening the floodgate. Whether I die or not... This will be my greatest performance. [editline]18th July 2011[/editline] Well shit, I died with 67 monsters left. I was killed by Bangfroak the President of Lutefisk. A Thrusty. I didn't expect him to take off 1/3 of my health in one hit
