Sweet shit, crafting is the most infuriating thing ever. Simply because I never have the things I need and my inventory is crowded as fuck!
At least with vamp you don't need to keep hauling all kinds of food items. And you cant throw away food items or wines even if you have 20 kinds of them because you know that you will swallow all of that in the first zoo you encounter.
Vampire and bloodmage winner here. Inventory full of artifacts and wands.

So I've been having great fun with a Vampire Rogue but what do you guys found the best build which got you the farthest?
Wow jeez, I finally got myself a decent character that can slaughter monsters in the 2nd floor and I die from rushing into a poison arrow shooting trap.

[editline]21st July 2011[/editline] Since you dininshed, do you know what the Zodiac wand does?
It removes all curses and stuff like that from yourself apparently. I actually just found this on their twitter. Making it a wand i will not sell next time i find it :v:
So how do you grab something when it spawns like this and you have no teleport powers?
I think you'd be able to push it with another power. If I remember right, this power comes with the mace skill.
This is probably the 20th time I've had something like this happen. Every time I steal it though I end up being fucked up by Brax. If I use the drop it outside the door glitch and enter a store on another floor will he fuck me up or is it only on the same floor?
If you enter any other store you have use the glitch again with your previously stolen items.
Ahh, playing Dwarvish Moderation (Perma Death) with a rogue. It's flawless. High dodge, high critical and trap detection makes you unbeatable. Also all the 'rogue' skills make escaping and surviving way too easy. Loving it. :v:
I can't load my best characters save anymore, so fucking annoying i was doing so well! This games fun but the crashes and bugs are fustrating as hell.
Bought the game, made a rogue-ish character, using crossbow with dead aim and assasination. And traps and tinkerer. I can pick up almost every single trap in the dungeon (still level 1), earning shitload of XP. And they are VERY useful in fights, saved my life twice already. [editline]21st July 2011[/editline] Oh, and mathemagicks, I love this skill tree for its name and descriptions.
Just died with 80k points. Damn it. Well that's the longest I've gotten.

killed by the player?
Poison. Don't drink funny looking green vials.
killed by the player?
Happens a lot as necromancer when you know you can just die and reload. :v:
Happens a lot as necromancer when you know you can just die and reload. :v:
Perma death for the win.
Perma death for the win.
With permadeath is the game so much more fun. Those who disagree don't know what they're missing.
That's why I'm only drinking with effects in their descriptions. Like 'fills your hp and mana bars'. [editline]21st July 2011[/editline] Permadeath FTW.
There's only about four potions that'll kill you in this anyway, and they're all crafting ingredients.
Perma death for the win.
I like perma death too. But after losing my character twice at the same level i just wanted to not die by some silly thing and experience the game further down the road.
Here's a blogpost for all you mac users, and just discussion about generic bugs, Including the god diggle we seen yesterday! [release]Hotfix and Mac Update; The Future Hi, folks! The Dredmor Save Fiasco Hotfix and a new OS X build have been sent to Steam, and they will go up some time tomorrow. (Steam is pretty good about these things.) As always, if you have any problems or questions, feel free to get in touch with us at contact@gaslampgames.com; we will try to get you sorted out as best we can. When updating the game, those of you using the hotfix may want to make sure you validate your Steam cache before, after, or during the install process to make sure you have the freshest, newest Dredmors that Steam can provide. (Or just uninstall and reinstall the entire thing, if bandwidth is cheap for you.) At this point, the game seems to be running pretty stably for most people. We’re aware of a few slowdowns (generally bad performance on OS X; also blood, in particular in Monster Zoos), and a few odd things that happen using the Unsupported Features (the hidden speed-up key and the OpenGL renderer.) So this is good. That said, we certainly have a bunch of issues to continue sorting out. My bugtracker currently has one hundred and eleven issues in it. In the words of Strong Bad, “That is not a small number! That is a big number!” There’s a very good chance that if there is an issue that’s bothering you (warrior health broken! Mages still need nerfing! Balance issues! Infinite Diggle Health bars! Pet stupidity! Monsters attacking you just as you kill them! Pets being stupid! WASD not working! This Translation is all Wrong… Is All Wrong! etc.), we probably have it on our list. This is in addition to the requested features list, which still includes 2X UI and has expanded to include a bunch of other things that everybody wants – and will eventually get – to make their life better. (Minimap icons springs instantly to mind, although there’s other stuff.) This is also in addition to new content. Plus, we need to finish the Linux port, and at some point we need to start assembling the next game! It’s a busy time to be a Gaslamper. We are going to work through this as fast we can, and as best we can, but we’re going to have to stop for a bit and get our bearings so that we can figure out the best way to attack things. We are currently leaning towards alternating bugfix and content patches, and we can only do this if we start building some testing infrastructure, so we’re going to do that. (This is slightly complicated by the fact that I, personally, am supposed to be moving at the start of August. Oh well.) We’ll let you know as soon as we determine what the next part of the plan is, and how soon in August I can actually get the Internet Access people to reconnect me with the rest of the world. In the mean time, we’re so thrilled you’re having a good time with Dredmor, and we hope that you continue to do so. I, for one, have spent several hours reading forum posts, laughing my head off, and being amazed at the incredibly long playtimes that people are putting in. It is very delightful to know that everything we threw in Dredmor over the course of several years has suddenly gone off with a very loud bang, all at once, all over the Internet. It’s like setting fire to an explosives factory.[/release]
Their posts are adorable.
There's only about four potions that'll kill you in this anyway, and they're all crafting ingredients.
To be honest if you go around vials that are clearly labelled as poison or 100% alcohol or acid you really need to learn from your mistakes anyways. 'course I'm assuming the 100% concentrated alcohol is fatal since I haven't actually drunk it myself :v:

My game just crashed. Damnit. Time to start anew.
Can't wait for the mac update today. Or is it out already? I can't tell. My saves work and stuff.
Anyone got $5?
More than that even.
