Nice, we have an expert. :v:
Been to the crossdressing thread, much?
What I've found to be really fun lately is making a Going Rogue + Permadeath character using the first skills you get with random.
Wait... Do people actually click random until they get skills they want?
Wait... Do people actually click random until they get skills they want?
Sometimes I reroll it once or twice if it gives me bollocks skills. v:v:v

Goddamnit I completely missed that joke until this post :geno:
I wonder if they'll implement a game mode with no end. Not that I've defeated Dredmor, but it feels a bit meh to go to the 10th floor just to start over. So it would be great if they implemented that.
I genuinely feel Bolts of Mass Destruction are too common on the lower levels. Not for their destructive power, but simply because you can sell them for so much each that it becomes game breaking.
I once started a new character and that bolt was the first thing I saw, it was right in the spawn room.
Exactly, though, I never use bolts really. Playing on the easiest difficulty and selling the bolt nets you 8700 each, which is insane.
I guess that's one thing that's different in the difficulties. In going rogue it's worth 3220

Some combinations are really useless, like if you have blood mage and no casting skills, or vampirism and crossbows/throwing

yea this would be awesome, like torchlights shadow dungeon
Wait... Do people actually click random until they get skills they want?
Firs time I played I did. Forgot what I got but it wasn't that useless.
god damn where is that mellow shrine
I saw it 18 times when I didn't need it

They should put a mark on the map for it.
They should put a mark on the map for it.
Hell no, this isn't Dungeons of Casualmor.
Although being able to place 1-2 markers per floor would be nice.
They should put a mark on the map for it.
I think they're gonna do that in the next patch or so.
Hell no, this isn't Dungeons of Casualmor.
They should at least have an option to let you turn off the markers.

Actually, it is. Check the genre it's labeled under.

What's the point of using random if you're just going to click it until you get something you want? Kinda pointless, if you ask me...

What's pointless is going with something like ley lines when you don't have the ability to cast any spells. Unless you're just masochistic

Well, then pick your skills if you want something that works. The whole point of random is to get random shit. Not stuff that always works. It's a fun, learning experience. Puts your mind to the test.

Elves just want to have fun + no permadeath begs to differ.
I seem to do the best with either Rogue Swordsmen or Dual-Wielding pure Warriors. I have yet to get a single mage character past floor 1.

Pyro and blood magic are your fwiends.

Tried it, keep getting surrounded because I can't kill shit fast enough.
Tried it, keep getting surrounded because I can't kill shit fast enough.
just be careful until you get the fireball.
Tried it, keep getting surrounded because I can't kill shit fast enough.
You could try golemancy too. Moustache golem is very good at the first two levels, then you can start killing stuff with thaumites and using unliving walls as protection.
Apparently super high regen rates are useless. I got 8 mana regen + blood magic , I think it should give 2 mana instead of 1 every 7 (or less) turns.

Right now i think once you've tried all skills, know what they do, and have a strong character, you've experienced most of the game already. You just need to make it to level 10. Once you beat Dredmor you're done and i wouldn't feel like making a character again because you've done it all anyhow.
I think 20hours for a 5 euro games is excellent. If they made it endless i'd want atleast a couple times the content of what it has now (including skills), because figuring things out is part of the game.

I don't even know how that works. I noticed you regen mana as blood mage. But shouldn't it be like vampire where you don't regen at all? Or atleast are not effected by your regen stats?
I can see myself beating this multiples times. Different skillsets really make this a different game, especially the crafting skills. Plus the devs are going to add more content.
Drank a potion of Radiance while standing next to Brax. I didn't know it would do anything to hurt him.
He one shotted me and I was doing well.
Also I didn't know you could get text buffs, I made a triple flail and went to an anvil and it made it set enemies on fire.

It'd have been better if he actually did put the cube into it.
