With the Pyromancy skill set, I created a wyvern and put a trap in a 2 tile wide area, and they would either run into a trap and have to deal with my crossbow or fight my tanky wyvern. I won easily.
noooo. I had just beaten level 4's monster zoo.

Hum... I just started playing with the Realms Of The Diggle and I just found three runes next to three holes. I tought I needed to put them in a good order and activate the lever that's next to the holes, but I'm not able to put them in the holes. Any advice? Also, I want someone to do a vampire vegan run. [editline]20th December 2011[/editline] Oh wait, I just had to walk on one of the holes to put the runes! I just created a throwing weapon shop. What other things can you make with those runes?

So, who can gift me this game? I can offer humble bundle 3 or 4
Neat, I didn't realize the steam sale extended to the dlc as well. 74 cents!
Just bought this game. It is fantastic.
It's Baby's first roguelike/dungeon crawler. But holy fuck is it awesome.
Turns out I already had DoD, so decided to give it a try. Already like the game from the difficulty selection's DF reference (also it forced me to go with permadeath on max difficulty, can't have it any other way). [editline]21st December 2011[/editline] So uh, I reached the second floor, opened a door and there are about 100 enemies waiting for me. Fuck.
Ate the Root of T'Char, at first it seemed like nothing was happening, then I got dire empowerment, was like, "cool", then suddenly randomly teleporting, then I start exploding, so I run to a nearby health potion on the floor, and just before I reached it (litteraly one turn more I would have it), I teleport away and explode in a massive explosion that covers the entire room and kills me.

Usually they contain abour 30 to 100 monsters, some named and some regular from lower levels.
How to win at the game: Put a horadric lutefisk cube either inside itself or inside another horadric lutefisk cube.
Oh, wow. First off, great game! Second, after a ton of characters, I found something that I love to play and is doing well for me. Golemancy, Archery, Assassination, Tinkering, Burglary, Perception, and Archeology. Mustache Golem is amazing, and can tank well while I shoot or beat whatever is distracted by the little guy. Cleared my first Monster Zoo, and then another. Also accidentally bought 2 Squid Bolts and regretted it because of the price, but then I used it on a room full of monsters and it wasn't a bad purchase anymore. I also found a Bolt of Mass Destruction but am afraid to use it.

It deals huge damage and deals splash damage over multiple tiles, so fire it in the middle of a group of enemies if you can. Inside a creature zoo is, IMO, the best use, unless you actually manage to get to Lord Dredmor on that playthrough, in which case blowing him the fuck up might be a good alternative.
Played this twice now, so fun! My first character had vampirism and blood magic etc, probably not the best idea as I didn't know how to drink blood and stuff (is it just done as you attack enemies?). Then I opened the second door in the dungeon and I got overrun by 3-5 sickly diggles... Second run was better at least, got to the second level of the dungeon
I think you do drink it automatically upon killing them. At least, you butcher them if you have the deadliest game skill, and automatically replenish bits of mana with blood magic so I assume it's the same. That said, what is up with strange dimensions? I entered one on dungeon floor 2, and even with the best available equipment and extreme caution it is dangerous as hell. I've used pretty much all my food and have cleared like 5 different areas. There's monsters who damage 50% of my health in one hit, what the hell. I never thought I'd use so many expensive crossbow bolts. And it crashes very often. How much longer does one have to endure this torture?
There's a skill in the vampirism tree that makes you eat corpses.
What the fuck is this game even doing any more? I've spent the last 20 minutes or so just going through endless amounts of mysterious dimensions. How do I get out again? Also, it crashes every time I get to the transport thing at the end. Then I have to boot up the game again, and the entire screen is black. I can still play, but not see anything. If I then go on the transport thing, I can see again and the new part of the dimension is playable as normal. It's really odd.

It's just a few hitpoints though so if you make a vampire character your first skill should be the corpse eating skill off the vampirism tree unless you've got another tree that grants healing in some form. Vampirism is very annoying to deal with if you have no other way to heal but if you get the ball rolling you can become deadly as it's pretty much infinite food constantly active as long as you are in a fight. Also, the game has a huge glitch that lets you duplicate diggle eggs (I had over 14 million eggs in one game exploiting this) which makes lutefisk altars and shops ridiculously broken (Had I sold my 14 million diggle eggs I'd have been 500 million zorkmids richer). I already notified one of the creators about this tho :v:
So how do I sell items? I never found that part out.
So how do I sell items? I never found that part out.
Drag the items on the store guy (forgot his name)
So how do I sell items? I never found that part out.
If you don't want the item again: Head into any shop, open up your inventory, shift+leftclick the item If you want the item again: Head to an item display in the shop, left click the item, pick the item up, drop it on the ground, click on the empty item display and sell your item.

where can i get mods? i just saw the new Mods tab and i was wondering what people have done with the game
Recently got this game. Pretty damn fun so far! I did not know you can get rewards for clearing a monster zoo... but apparently you can. A big part of getting good gear seems to be luck, as finding recipes, useful ingots, etcetera. is random. Additionally, although there is a lot of good aluminum gear that you can create, there is some good steel stuff as well. Especially the serpentine plate, made with steel plate and some other ingots (not sure if this is in RotDG, though).

Like MASK OF THE GOLDEN GOD, armor absorbtion and block chance as high as a plump helmet WITHOUT the magic penalties,
Noooo I missed the DLC announcement and now I have to pay 70c more for the expansion.
Noooo I missed the DLC announcement and now I have to pay 70c more for the expansion.
Now it's 70 cents more worth it than it was before. In any case, a friend bought me this and it's pretty neat! Love the additions they've added but it seems I am not as savvy as I was once before. I'll get there though hopefully.
