Is it actually worth the download?
I know it is not that much money but I already had a shitload of transactions with the Indie Humble Packs, Steam and GoG.com. Any opinion on the dlc?
It's great. Feels like the piece that was always missing.
it's great except it assaults my main screen with some sort of red-haired monster
I swear necro would be alot better if the first goddamn spell weren't so shit.

The first spell's drawbacks are pretty harsh, but there are ways to counter it. The first skill of astrology comes to mind; it basically shields you in an aura, so that all the bad stuff that happens to you when you hex something is rendered, well, completely inconsequential. Just make sure to keep up that aura... I've lost more than a few characters since I started deathly hexing everything and forgot to cast Radiant Aura on myself.
So I was on a very well-off playthrough, at level 1 and already nearing end-game equipment through some lucky chances at the stores, when I complete this quest, and Inconsequencia gave me a "Cybercone" which crashed my game. Dammit.

Well at least you got an achievement out of it.
Suddenly the dungeon collapses!
It's YOUR TURN.
It's YOUR FRIEND'S TURN.
it's THE MONSTER's TURN.
it's the FIGHTING ROUND
etc
well it's not like turns would take long anyway
Co-op roguelikes, bad idea.
Bought the DLC. Can't wait to play it.
So, I'm working on a mod. Unfortunately nobody I know plays Dredmor so as far as playtesting goes, I'm fucked. Would someone here be so kind as to give me some feedback?
http://www.mediafire.com/?cgzwejry2o7lrab
Just in case you don't know how to install mods, what you do is create the folder "mods" in
C:\Users\ YOUR USER \Documents\Gaslamp Games\Dungeons of Dredmor\
Then unzip to to that folder.
When you start DoD click mods, then check on the checkbox before you begin.

play testing as we speak.
EDIT: Pretty cool, if your wondering what it does, it adds new armor to the game and a class.

Thanks! I suppose I should've more properly explained what my mod does.
Class: Atheist Monk
High on the eastern mountains you spent years honing your disbelief. Now, in your darkest hour you can put it all to good use.

Skill one: Nonbeliever
Righteous and Necronomical damages have nothing on you, because as far as you're concerned there's no such thing.
(Gives you +3 Righteous and +3 Necronomical resistance)
Skill two: His Noodly Appendages
Ironically pray to FSM to heal your wounds. He does it anyway because he gets the joke.
(Gives you access to a healing spell)
Skill three: Disprove Existence
Show the target creature that simple logic dictates that they don't exist.
(Does 20 existential damage to the target creature)
Skill four: The Athe-est
You don't believe in anything. Not even yourself.
(Gives you +12 more Righteous and Necronomical resistances, as well as +15 Aetherial and Existential resistances)
That is fucking hilarious. Fits the theme of the game like a glove.
But it's op, debuff magic as a tradeoff.

Yeah, a very nice class but maybe OP. Maybe make it so each skill also decreases magic strength because there is no such thing.

Ooh, good point. What if I were to remove all mana requirements from the class's "spells", and make it so that if you upgrade it all the way you pretty much lose almost all your mana?
Alright, testing out the Athiest mod. (Keep in mind that I am a normal player, not a super playtester)
The level 1 skill seems a little weak. +3 necromatic and +3 righteous resistance, and you need to sustain it (although you can sustain it for a long time, 100 turns until it takes 1 mana). Righteous and Necromatic damage isn't too common, and compare that to other, similar level 1 skills; Radiant Aura, Meatshield, and Magic Steel. I'd consider either buffing the resistances a bit, adding new resistances (aethereal, perhaps?), or making it passive instead of sustainable.
I'd consider losing the fire resistance on the starting robe. None of the other starting magic armors have - resistances, and again, righteous damage is not very common. You could turn the robe into a hat, but remember to not make it UP. The Golemancy and Astrology hats are pretty good.
The His Noodly Appendages skill, au contraire, seems a tad OP. I used it at 5 HP and went to 30 (+25 HP), and it gives +2 health regeneration for 15 turns. I have a magic power of 2, and keep in mind that this is a level 2 skill. The health regeneration is okay, as +2 health for 15 turns isn't that major considering it takes +12 to regen 1 health per turn. Knit tissue, for comparison, the level 3 skill of the fleshsmithing tree, would have healed me for 6 health (assuming I had the same magic power and don't suck at math), given me +2 health regen (assuming any number with a decimal value of .5 or higher is rounded up), and would have given me -1 burliness and -2 health for 5 turns. Keep in mind that Knit Tissue takes mana, so it's not the best comparison. I'd consider reducing the amount it heals, or just giving it a longer cooldown time.
Disprove Existence seems a tad UP. A 20 damage attack can pretty much kill anything on the first floor (some stuff on the second, as well), but I can imagine it getting VERY weak in the later levels. 10 mana is a decently steep price, and keep in mind that this is a level 3 skill. Possibly make it scale with magic power, give it a cooldown, or up it's damage. Might be hard to balance this one.
Will update this post soonish.
edit: oh, you're going to make it that if you upgrade it enough you lose all your mana? That makes it a pretty great warrior skill, since LOL NO MANA REQUIRED, but you might want to buff it subsequently.
yeah, it seems like a pretty damn good skill tree so far. needs a tad bit of balance, but good. and hilarious.
Made it to level 9 with permadeath (obviously) on Dwarven Moderation. First time ever I've gotten that far and I had a very good chance to take down Dredmor.
Then the game crashes.

Alright, good points.
I'm just gonna go with the adventurer believes that there is a scientific explanation behind magic, and that's how it works.
The reason for the sustained skills is that there's currently a bug with mods that doesn't allow resistances to be applied.
I'll probably nerf Disprove Existance's base damage, but make it scale way more with magic power, and reduce the mana required for it a tad.
Noodly appendages I will reduce the base healing, and make scale better with magic power too. I might make the regen 3 instead of 2, also.
You're right about the uncommon-ness of righteous damage... I'll probably change the robe from -1 conflagratory to +1 hyperborean.
If you make it scale with magic power, but make it so that you lose all your mana once max-Athiest... I dunno, seems a bit counter-intuitive, like their purposes are clashing.
You could make it scale with stubbornness (fits), or something. Not sure if you can, though. Probably can.

Unfortunately, due to the way the game is coded, spell effects can only scale with magic power. I wish I could make it go up with stubbornness, though, because it is vastly funnier.
Just a question, is there a website that lists mods for this game? I cant seem to find any.
Unarmed, Shields, Master of Arms, Berserker Rage, Emomancy (To steal from Brax easily).
Last two skills are your choice. Go wild.
I dislike these mysterious portals..
Doing good on Hard with permadeath (that's a first), clear floor one, hop on the portal. Throw some semi hard hitting things at a monster I've never seen before, it one hits me for 40 damage. :| Break time.
Is the not knowing how to use a weapon debuff gone/broken? I was using a sword then switched to an axe and got no debuff.. Seemed to hit things fine, too.

Also:
New skill tree. (That I want to make)
Freedom Fighter:
Vive la resistance!
The teachings of Paul:
You can see the British coming.
+1 sight radius, +1 trap sight radius, +1 trap affinity.
Commando wisdom:
Time in the jungle has made you Cunningly Brutal, and Brutally Cunning. You hit when they dont see you, and harder when they do, sometimes both at the same time.
+1 Burliness, +1 trap affinity
*Skill that gives two buffs, 10 round standard invisibility and a special one-hit buff of +2 melee power +30 critical chance, cooldown of 50*
Friends in shady places:
Your network of revolutionaries has given you access to some very helpful friends in nature.
+1 Savvy, +1 trap affinity.
*Skill that allows you to summon a friendly Diggle Commando, cooldown of 80, only one at a time*
Scourge of the Rice Paddys:
You can hide in a nook, and strike fiercely from a cranny. Your attacks have a chance to grievously injure.
+2 Nimbleness, +2 Caddishness, +1 melee power, +1 Trap affinity.
*Chance to cause bleeding out/crippling wound.*
Pop culture Icon.
Your face is plastered over the walls and chests of teenagers in other countries. How this manages to make you stronger is unknown. Though you can use all these shirts to make Molotovs.
+1 trap affinity, +2 melee power, +2 Savvy.
*Skill that gives you 5 molotovs with a cooldown of 60, molotovs act like slightly stronger thermite bombs*
Welp.
I was doing the best I've done so far (on GR and Permadeath) and I was almost done clearing a monster zoo on the second level, I come up the stairs for a breather, as well as to sell some crap to Brax. Accidentally, I right click on him, and I have a wand equipped.
FUCK.
So, 40 turns of invisibility later, I get swarmed (and murdered) by Dread Collectors.
Otherwise, I'm really loving this game.
