To be honest, the stuff you find as loot is better than anything you can craft. Save for squid bolts. My favored build right now is : Unarmed Shields Berserker Master of Arms Archaeology Tinkerer Emomancy Unarmed gives you a much needed knockback attack, shields because you'll be dual-wielding shields all the time. Berserker because yes. Master of Arms for more Tankiness. Archaeology for exp and rerolling artifacts after they get corrupted. Tinker for disarming traps. Emomancy for easily stealing from Brax. Shazam.
What's all the abilities between fleshsmithing and astrology? [editline]29th December 2011[/editline] Nevermind, I found the wiki.
I find that: Unarmed Viking Wizardry Shields Master of Arms Artful Dodger Assassination Big Game Hunter Make a very good class.
Those of you with reddit accounts: /r/gaming has a now-playing list that shows what games people are playing most, and if you hit this link and then hit "send" you can spread the word about the game by helping Dungeons of Dredmor get to the top. So.. I just save'd and quit in front of an anvil of Krong.. Reloaded, got a bad enchantment, so I quit. I went to load my save, and it's not there. FML. Permadeath with the hardest difficulty is just doomed for me.
Permadeath is pretty fair TBH, however I like how they give you the option.
Permadeath is pretty fair TBH, however I like how they give you the option.
I think it could be handled better though, crashing and losing your save is the worst feeling.
How would it tell the difference between crashing and someone closing it via task manager? They should just fix the crashes.
Emomancy can let you steal from Brax? I did not know this. I really want a way to steal from Brax, better than Five-Finger Discount. I remember I maxed the burglary tree on one character only to find out how Five-Finger Discount worked... sadness. Unless you just mean it makes it easy for you to kill him.
The first spell let's you teleport him away.
Not that far away, just a few tiles
Does anyone want to trade the DLC for Braid or Railworks 3 / Hector 50 off coupon or all? Portal if you want it too.
Not that far away, just a few tiles
Grab shit, teleport brax away, drop shit at edge of shop boundaries, exit shop, pick shit up. Before you enter another shop on that level, drop all of your stolen gear that you stole on that level.

There's a way around it though, you could open task manager and end process the game. :v:
Or not play permadeath.
Oh wow Rune of Exploding makes monster zoos such a pushover. As long as you have enough mana to cast 2 in rapid succesion that is. Incase someone's going to ask: When you open the door, don't panic, find a open space as close to the open door as possible, place rune there, do the same thing next turn, then you run and drink some mana potions/booze as the enemies burn infront of you, repeat with next batch untill done.

It's especially hilarious when the monsters go "I hope they nerfed your spells this time..." and you just go "Nope.avi" and toast their nether regions.
What's a good defensive build. I was thinking something with double shields. I keep dieing on level 2 or 3, mostly because of my own errors, sometimes because the enemies just hit too hard. Oh and how many levels in total are there with the DLC (so +15).
I'm having troubles with loading a save, it crashes right on load after I save & load next to an anvil of Krong. I'm playing on a Mac (in aforetime "It's the mac's fault"). I don't want to clear two monster zoos again...

Oh and how many levels in total are there with the DLC (so +15).
Well, for a start: Unarmed, Shield Bearer, Master of Arms. Unarmed gives a total of +11 block when you level it all up, Shield Bearer gives +10 block when fully leveled up (and that does not include the abilities), and Master of Arms gives +8 block when fully leveled up. That is 29 block right there. With Suit Up active, that is 33 block. With Tortoise Maneuver active, that is 38 block. If you get hit and Duck and Cover becomes active, that is another +10 block so 48 block. Assuming you have full plate armor, that is another +12 block, which is 50 block. Assuming you have Steel pants (which ARE rare...), that is yet another +6 block so 56 block. With steel gloves and sabatons (which are both rare as well), which together give +11 block for 67 block. Assuming you have two heroic bronze apsis' (which for the first time is an underassumption), that is +20 block, so 87 block. With a steel plate gorget and a girdle of shiny steel plates, that is +8 block so 95 block. Also assuming you have two rings of iron thorns, that is +12 block so 107 block. And that, my friends, is a holy shit 107 BLOCK MOTHERFUCKER. Of course that whole paragraph was based on cheap and unstable assumptions, so eh. Just doing some math to show what you CAN get. Not taking into account +block gained from artifacts, or even the serpentine plate armor (although I believe that is RotDG armor).
Thanks, I got the ball rolling double shielding. I'd also like to thank Dehodson for getting me the DLC, you're awesome. Also, what's a good blood mage type build? Like lifesteal, basically revolving around being a vampire. I was thinking staves, blood mage, necronomics, and vampirism and I'm not sure about anything else.
Well, vampirism is a very hard skill to take. If you take it, your whole build revolves around it. I'm having some trouble figuring out a build with Werediggle. Using weapons with a werediggle is kind of pointless, so weapon skills are out. Right now I am experimenting around with assassination and poisoneer (a mod), because I THINK that the special attacks you gain are still present as a diggle. I also chose a whole smattering of crafting skills since equipment boni also apply when you are a diggle. And then archaeology cause fuck why not? The second skill will also be useful for turning artifact weapons into exp.
Is there any way to edit my character location? I accidentally kicked a lever away and now I have no way of getting off this area surrounded by water. I'm no wizard. [editline]30th December 2011[/editline] Would killing it with taskmanager quit without saving? [editline]30th December 2011[/editline] Ok it worked, but then I died to poison. I even used a potion of purity and I had 1 hp left, and I decided to eat but I stayed in the poision and died. Fuck me, I even got the best boots and thought I could get a few levels further.
Why does my interface look different from this?

Before I knew what the fuck lutefisk was, I discarded my lutefisk cube and ate all my lutefisk.
This just in, a patch to fix custom skills not adding stat bonuses is being slapped in.
I saw tons of gameplay since it came out, and I finally bought it. Anything I should know about besides lutefisk?
