Nope, I still haven't killed the bastard with permadeath on.

Heh, I've never been able to get down to level 10.
Actually, you'd only level up once. That's a good thing though, don't want to be level 15 on the second floor.
Actually, sending it to a museum doesn't anger Brax at all. Also this is the reason I take Emomancy on nearly all of my builds.
1. Pick item(s) up.
2. Use first emomancy skill to teleport Brax away from door.
3. Drop item(s) on the border of his shop.
4. Walk outside his shop (you shouldn't get harassed by Brax, if you are, yer doin it wrong.)
5. Pick items up
Addendum: If you have have any stolen items that you stole from THAT floor (IE: You stole a tome on floor 3 and you enter another shop on floor 3) you'll have to repeat it with all stolen items.
They fixed the museum sending without buying this patch. Now Brax yells at you, much as he yells at you if you attempt to nom on consumables without buying.
In other news, the char I'm currently running is stupidly powerful for several reasons.
1. You know how krong can enchant your weapons with special powers? Like summoning fire or acid splash? Well he can also enchant your crossbow to do the same thing. The cool thing? If your crossbow is enchanted with a power, not only does it apply to your bolts, IT APPLIES TO YOUR MELEE ATTACKS. So currently, enemies I hit get acid splashed on them and lit on fire.
2. Diggle god of death blessing. No natural regen, but holy shit do you get some powerful abilities. Immunity to necromancy, asphyxiation, putrefaction, toxic damage, slight hyperborean resistance, and there's a chance that you summon a deathly cloud of death on hit, causing loadsadamage.
3. Mittens of the Hyperborean Heirophant. Every time you hit, you summon a small snowstorm, and are immune to hyperborean damage. That shit's crazy.
4. Pact of Fleeting Life. Have it on every time I go into melee.
So every time I hit, I have a chance of freezing, burning, aciding, and death clouding my enemies, ON TOP of the damage I already do (which from picking up an incredibly powerful Mace of the Misunderstood Warlord from a chest of evil, is a shitton). Then I steal 20 health because of the pact of fleeting life, teleport away by moving in mysterious ways, and summon a giant rift in space and time that explodes everything.
I've been playing a lot today to get ready for the new free DLC which is coming out at the start of June I believe, called "You have to name the expansion pack", which includes some mods in it, such as the clockwork knights mod. Today, I had this brilliant set-up, by the end of Level 1.

This new DLC sounds cool, it's a compilation of the best mods out there. Always cool to have a few new skill trees.

I got that necklace once from a fountain in the first room i searched on floor 1. Unfortunately I didn't have it long because I was randoming. Best item I've ever had.

Steam workshop is the best part
Hey guys, do you have any tips for Tinkering? I've tried it but I've never really found it useful.
I've got a build with Tinkering, and i've been pouring many resources into making bombs and upgrading my crossbow to a Steel Recurve Crossbow. If you want an AoE build, being a Tinkerer is a start, even though there doesn't seem to be a skill path for Throwing Proficiency or Demolitionists, though there really should.
doesn't seem to be a skill path for Throwing Proficiency or
What? There is one. Right next to the crossbow path. Tinkering is great skill for countering traps and goes quite well with throwing and crossbows as you can make loads of good bolts and crossbows. Some of the clockwork items are awesome too. Befor the crafting changes it used to be great thanks as you could easily make BMDs.
I needed to see if I had money on my card so I bought this game. I should have bought it ages ago.

Oh right, I forgot about that; does it say anything about explosives?
Well, explosives are throwable weapons, so all the bonuses from this tree apply to them.
Can anyone recommend me a good character build. I am usually a pretty strong warrior type of class, I usually take twohanded and armor or dodge and smithing. Any different suggestions which are fun to play as?
Gonna try one of those tinkering builds soon.
Just got this game on the sale and was wondering; does it usually take 1-3 hours to clear 1 floor?

Yes. Enjoy that.

If you decide to go to floor two in less then that, you'll die in a quarter of the time. Same goes for every floor after that.
Currently on the 4th floor but this monster house is preventing me from getting to the anvil
You mean a Monster Zoo? Pro tip; make sure you have a crossbow, and DON'T sell those Squid Bolts you find; they're pretty invaluable for dealing muchos damages to the inhabitants of the zoo. Make sure you're at a good distance before firing, though, unless you like extradimensional octopus in your butt. Same goes for Bolts of Mass Destruction; if you can push enemies back, like with a Shield Bash or Kinetic Shove, shove them back THEN shoot your bolt.

I feel Mass Destruction bolts are worth selling more than the Squid Bolts.
Squid bolts are more useful on zoos, because they are AOE and DOT at the same time, so in case of a bigger room more monsters are going to die and the damage done by one big explosion isn't as powerful.

Eh, that's ok, but personally I keep my hands on my nukes so I can give little diggles leukemia before they're incinerated in the atomic inferno.
What do i do with this?

Say guys, did anyone's Dredmor just update? Mine did; I think the new expansion just went up, since they said it'd go up on the 5th (on the 4th, they did a blog post saying "it'll be up tomorrow").
Yeah, mine updated, and now Steam Workshop, woo. The link doesn't seem to work if you aren't logged into Steam Community, but whatever.
Has anyone looked at the system requirements for http://store.steampowered.com/app/98821/ ?
The expansion is "up" but the button to install has 'fallen off'.

Yes
Finally, steam workshop goodness
I haven't played this game since shortly after achievements were first added. Now that I've gotten the DLC for 90 cents, and this new one is out, I guess I'll try getting into it again.
And despite how long it's been since I played, I'm still the fourth-highest poster in the thread :v:
