Not as good riches as fountains though. (Found that necklace/amulet/w/e in one, the one what's worth a solar system)

I went into a mysterious portal, and didn't find any very good items, but I did find myself nearly dying several times. It was totally not worth it
Mana Maille is pretty fucking awesome, as long as you've got a lot of mana or can regen it quickly.
Looks like the wiki for this game has quite a bit of outdated information. There's nothing whatsoever about the recent DLC release.
I looked at the article for Zombyfycation because I'm doing a fleshsmithing character, and it says only one pet zomby can be active at a time... Well, that must have changed in a very recent patch, because I can have 5-6 of them running around at once, clearing out monster zoos and other good stuff. I really don't have to lift a finger in the monster zoos, except to summon more zombies. That'll probably change below floor 2 though.
Loving the new classes, although I managed to kill myself with a rocket jump. That skill takes off so much health it's unreal.
Having a pretty good run. Got 3 pronged sword blessed by Krong, and next level up I get laser eyes. On the third floor, 15000-16000 score.

Yeah :v:
Fleshsmiting received huge changes with this last patch. It also buffed Astrology and Piracy, check the patch notes.

So due to the new free update i decided to make a new character and try out some new stuff. Went swords dodgeing master of arms, blacksmith tinker, clockwork knight and warlockery. i was wondering if anyone knew the details of all the cool new stuff with this update?
The top rated mod is kinda unbalanced, ninja has a skill that turns you invisible for a turn if you dodge, and has another skill in another tree that gives you a shit ton of dodge in a stance, add the vanilla dodge skill on there and throwing(since the ninja skill tree has one that gives you free throwing items for like 15 mana, no cooldown), add whatever you want ontop of there, maybe a blood magic to give you faster mana regen so you get more shit to throw :v:
I started a new character with the vegan skill and i happened to open a Chest of Evil and this happened:

I love veganism.
It's usually worth opening chests of evil anyway because they sometimes give monsters that provide a huge XP boost.

How does veganism work anyway, does it make stuff like diggels neutral?

Just make sure you're ready for a fight first :v:
Or you'll get awesome loot, my last char used only equipment found in these. Dwarven Express Post best post.
Ahahaha, I love golemancy.

I wish this game had some kind of fast-combat mode, so I didn't have to watch every monster's attack animation one by one in every turn. It gets really tedious when you play a class with a lot of minions.

Press the = key to speed up animations, press the - key to slow them down.
Goddamn just picked up the DLC for this and a few mods, JESUS CHRIST i forgot how loud the default sound is, I have it set to about halfway in game and then with the windows mixer its at 5% and its still loud. Dear god my ears are ringing
What? I've never had such problems and never seen any complaints. It must be something with your machine.
Am I missing something, or is wand lore kind of a shitty skill? Does it offer any benefits that the game doesn't tell you about? I would think that at some high level, wands you craft get twice as many charges, or maybe whenever you use a wand, there's a 50% chance that it doesn't use a charge... Y'know, something useful like that, beyond being able to craft more wands.
I'm doing a dual wielding shield unarmed character. It's horribly powerful, there are some monsters that can't even damage me. Now i have a Mirror Darkly Shield and a Magnetronic Shield.
Dual shielding? Can't say i've ever heard of THAT before, save for in Dark Souls.
Shield bearer/Bare footed is pretty popular build, you can also wield tomes for extra power. Unfortunately when I tried it, it lost loads of power round level 8-9.
Wands became very, very powerful and there used to be skill messing around with number of charges, although I'm unsure if it's still in.
Holy shit, first god damn room theres a bunch of enemies including a Deth. I kill them and level up. Then inside are 2 statues of Dredmor, break them. Ride next to them is a breakable door with an unfriendly AI who I slaughtered without getting hit once and level up again.
2 levels. First room.
What was your skillset?
I can attest to the awesomeness of dual shielding. In my last life I used mastery of arms, shield bearer, unarmed combat, berserker... I forget what else. What's really handy about mastery of arms and shield bearer is that they both come with skills that buff your health regeneration until you get hit a certain number of times. It's really handy when you're on a long hike through the dungeon, or want to regain some health before taking on the rest of a monster zoo.
So anyway... I think the dungeon layout mechanics have been changed or something. When I went through floor 2 of my current run, I only found one shop. On floor 3, I only found two shops, and there was no monster zoo.
I thought every floor was required to have exactly 3 shops, and every floor below 1 was required to have at least one monster zoo.
Yeah, I think those were taken down after the previous patch, not this one. Zoos now have only a chance of spawning, although I've never heard about this 3 shops rule.
I suggest using Killer Vegan with the dual shielding, there are huge amounts of health buffs
I had like 100 health at the end of the first floor

I coupled the build with the Clockwork skill and got the Clockwork armor, so i can use the rocket jump ability to jump away while doing damage. Also, the rocket punch from the Clockwork skill is fantastic, it does a lot of damage, stuns and throws monsters away, really useful to create barriers by moving pillars and other junk.
So I managed to trigger a monster zoo with no arrows and only a few bombs and AoE items, I was pretty sure I was fucked however fortunately for me the room adjacent to the monster zoo was one of those rooms with an island in the middle and a bunch of levers around the outside that teleport you around. As a result I was able to knightly leap to the island and then hold them off with with my only two attack skills, the rogue scientist air cannon and acid sprayer. When I wasn't using them I'd be waiting for the cooldown to wear off.
I took on the entire monster zoo with two skills, one that has about a 20 turn cooldown and another that has something like a 30 turn cooldown.
I crashed after whittling them down to the last 30 monsters.
Needless to say I raged harder than an enraged diggle.
