The Dread Collectors seem damn dangerous. If there was a chance for one of them to turn into Brax if you killed Brax, that'd screw you over further. And yes, I only brought that up because of Harbinger.

A Dread collector gets promoted to "Brax" if the current Brax of that shop dies. [editline]21st June 2012[/editline] Would explain why there's more than one Brax, he's not a person, it's a position within the demon's chain-store.
Really, it's a good idea? Not bad at all; I wasn't even trying there, I was just referencing Mass Effect 2. But if it sounds good, then it's alright.
Never played much of ME2.
I am disabling all the damn mods Updates keep breaking my saves
I don't know if I can ever do without burglary in the future. I mean, it has abilities that grant invisibility, teleportation, and infinite lockpicks, plus some extra trap sense and the actual stealing. Just the invisibility and teleportation alone are indispensable to pretty much anyone who likes not dying.
I've always wanted to make one of these videos...
The music doesn't sound too bad. What is the name of it?
So, in other, exponentially-growing news, Dragonsbreath Caltrop Eruptors spawn OTHER Dragonsbreath Caltrop Eruptors. Anywhere from 0-4, with an average of 2 I've noticed. No other eruptors do this. What you REEEEALLY shouldn't do is stack 27 of them for shits and giggles on a level where you've pissed brax off. It's fun to watch 27 explosions of caltrops go off and instakill several debt collectors; What's not fun is when they continually spawn and trigger MORE eruptors and infest the entire dungeon. I've been working hard to disarm every single one, and have over 120 eruptors as well as 300 each of quantum and dragonsbreath caltrops, but it's no use. I'm probably just going to abandon the level. This shit is crazy.
Wait does the disarming give exp? Because if it does wouldn't that give you infinite exp?

I couldn't for the life of me figure out where all those damned traps were coming from...
Wait does the disarming give exp? Because if it does wouldn't that give you infinite exp?
Yes, it does, but it's such a slow way to grind XP by the time that you can abuse it that you're better off just playing the game normally.
There really needs to be a quickfish button for the horaldic lutefisk cube
I stole from Brax, Now I can never go back to that floor
I haven't played this in a while, so I decided to start it up again last night. My major problem with this is that, since I decided to be a tinkerer/smithy, I feel the need to hoard EVERYTHING. I never have room in my inventory anymore. And then I feel wasteful leaving random items that I don't need lying around so I make room in my inventory and take them to Brax to sell. I leveled up like 6 times and got over 20000 gold by the time I completely cleared out the first floor. Its pretty annoying how the Steam Overlay doesn't work though.
Does steam cloud work with this? I was playing Binding of Isaac and noticed the save didn't carry over so I just lost a game to play when I'm bored, but what about this, I have a) scores and b) a save from a while ago. OK, it wasnt much to install so I just installed it, it works.

No matter how well equipped you feel, Mysterious Portal levels are tense as hell. I've gone through 2 on my current playthrough, and got some nice stuff, but god it is so tense knowing that you could just be took out like that...
My game must be broken, because on my last run I entered all the mysterious portals I could find and the monsters there were weaker than normal floor monsters and the loot was shit.
I just had probably the bullshittiest death ever. I got all the way to dredmor, got him isolated in a single small room, built a bunch of walls around him, and started pelting him with every wand I had. I was easily able to recover from all his spells, using a healing spell on myself and drinking my stockpiled health potions. I had his health down so low that no red was visible in his health bar at all, then he basically went "HEY GUESS WHAT YOU'RE DEAD NOW" and used some spell that took ALL of my health. 100% of it. I was at full health and he just decided to kill me. I tried desperately to savescum as soon as I was one-shotted, but the files had already been deleted. Then my computer bluescreened. Then it overheated. Then I started the game back up to find that I wasn't even given a place on the high score table. I wouldn't be so pissed off if it didn't take 10+ hours to get through the game every time, but now I just can't play it for a while. The only way I can see myself getting back into it is if anyone happens to have a save file on going rogue + permadeath that's near the end of the game that they can give me. I'm willing to resort to any amount of cheating at this point, because that's pretty much what the game did to me.
Put /opengl on the launcher options on Steam, it should work and it also makes the game a lot faster.
It's not working for some reason. And do items despawn? Is it safe to stockpile a ton of items I don't want to carry in a room for any amount of time, between any amount of floors, and be able to go back and retrieve them all?
Okay, so this is shaping out to be my best run yet. Had to save and I'll go back to it tomorrow, but this is what it looks like at the Fungal Floor (Floor 6? Kinda lost track) No longer worried about Monster Zoos at all, since what I think is the hat, is casting fireballs from my melee attacks occaisonally.

And as far as I'm aware, items never despawn.
Also, I am sure that items never despawn, there was a guy not so long back who was using the previous floor to stash crafting supplies, and keeping items on the ground seems to be the basis of the new pocket dimension coming in the next DLC, so I'm pretty sure you'll be okay.

Last update broke the Steam overlay.

Just put all crafting-related items on the previous floor (or really, wherever is convenient/safe for you) and relocate everything when it's time to move on to a new floor. It can get tedious, but if you're playing on the hard difficulty, it's worth it to make sure that none of your materials go to waste. You could technically keep everything on the first floor if you don't mind walking that far to craft every time.
I keep telling myself not to go in the portals but I just can't help it because the first few times it was survivable and I got awesome loot but anytime I do it now I get 1-shotted from 80 health by some raven or blob by a spell from across the room.
Hang on, at one store I have both the Golden Crossbow and the Bolt Eruptor. In case you didn't know, the goldbow apparently gives an "Imminent Death" effect, but the Eruptor causes every bolt to become an explosion. Which one should I buy?

Sure, the Imminent Doom effect is pretty, but most of the late game mobs are immune to it. Also, in the lower levels you'll find a shitton of bolt eruptors, so be wise with your money. I happened to find 3 of them in a single room.
