I'm high enough level so it takes 2 shots for the Evil clones to kill me. I can take them out with a long process of summoning hordes of zombies as distractions and wearing them down with rocket punches. If they get too close I rocket jump away.
Takes a while, but gets the job done.

Mysterious portals are awesome.
I went into one with a polearms build, and I immediately was greeted by two unique bosses from level 12 and level 14. Needless to say, I died.
Then I go in with another character, and the first item I find is Ulmish Blacksteel Platemail. In the next corner I find a clockwork bolt thrower.
I put a Hordraic Lutefisk Cube inside a Hordraic Lutefisk Cube. In the middle of a Monster Zoo.
The results were... not what I expected, but nonetheless helpful.

OH GOD, now I need to try this.
See, this is one of the greatest features of the game: When you try stuff you aren't entirely sure what the hell is going to happen, and it leaves things up to experimentation. That is the true mark of a rogue-like.

so i accidentally discovered the "mage's magic maille" bug while playing, which allows you to infinitely stack the skill and basically make it so you never get hurt. The first thing I did with this newly found knowledge was abuse it. And then later found out it's been reported multiple times before, months ago.
[sp]It's the 2nd skill in the warlockery skillset, that gives +1 to all resistances (except acid) and +1 to armor. It can stack every time you go up/down a staircase, or ~200 steps(?).[/sp]

Thankfully I had beserk rage so my mana got reset back to 0 frequently, otherwise my mana would probably be in the -1mil range.
it feels like cheating though, so i'll have to remember to re-do this character without stacking the maille.
Finally I manage to get a good run, but then I see a mysterious portal I can't resist. I ended up in a lower floor with high level monsters that take half my health per hit. I try running, but get blocked in by several monsters and die once again a horrible death.

When the skill is activated once, it causes your mana to drop by [Damage]. So because I had somewhere around 60 or so, it would be [Damage]*60 every time I got hit. So if it would have done 11 damage to me normally, it would instead be 660 mana damage per hit. Maybe a little less than that i'm not sure on the algorithm they use.
I didn't really do much else other than stack the buff. Apparently a recent patch to DunDred reintroduced the bug, as I saw a [url=http://community.gaslampgames.com/threads/stacking-mages-mana-maille.4170/]bug report thread dating aug 2nd[/url] about it as well.

So I used the Horadric Lutefisk Cube on the Zoo it was pretty fiery and I also used Bolt of Mass Destruction, then I Killed Brax and robbed him, his goons showed up to get me, I killed them, escaped to next level floor and sold the robbed stuff to other Brax. :v:
