Server is pretty fucking awful compared to the older times. Hunger ruins it, honestly. Even if you do manage to get out of spawn, which is pretty much filled with lava about 90% of the time, you'lll probably starve to death before you can reach trees. Not nearly as fun as before. Too spread out, too difficult, spawn is a 500x500 block of jack shit. It just can't compare to the older 2b2t where people actually worked together to build stuff and where the survival wasn't the scary part, the relationships between players were. bleh.

You can find food within a few hundred blocks, and you can make it at least 1k out without walking.

On the way I found 4 pieces of zombie flesh floating on the ground and ate them. By the time I got there I had found 4 chests in the open and two of them had melon in them. At about 1500.-1900 I found a giant base loaded with food and stacks of iron and armor. I equipped myself and kept walking. Entire time spent on this effort was about 20 minutes. It's not difficult. hint: don't sprint and jump
[QUOTE=Kaameron;36945492]You're an idiot. You can find food within a few hundred blocks, and you can make it at least 1k out without walking.[/QUOTE] He's saying that 2b2t's changed, which is true.
[QUOTE=.Isak.;36943244]Oh, man, 2b2t. Used to be such a hellishly great server. Are there still the hackers that will hunt you down? That was the fun part. Traveling for 3-4 minecraft days just to find a spot to settle down. I went through so many bases. Loved this one back at the start. Dunno how it is anymore.[/QUOTE] Was it hidden within the ground?
I'll try to give it a few more tries, but it's too different for my tastes. I managed to stockpile lots of chicken and zombie flesh, but it's still really difficult to find anything worthwhile. Even with zombe's. Plus I still think the spawn is absolutely terrible. More than half the time it's full of lava. It should be a small, build-protected flat block where new players can leave without burning. The on-the-side-of-a-volcano shit is frustrating as all hell, since if you die you'll probably be stuck in lava dying repeatedly for another good 10-15 minutes until someone drops water. I just miss the simpler times when flying wasn't blocked and 2b2t was essentially a competitive survival-build server. Where everyone had mob grinders and duplicators and all you really worried about was somebody finding you and bombing you to hell and back.

Plain facts- if you don't like it, stop whining on here that it's too hard.
make perfect lava wall around spawn, then some ******* drop the water [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/TBdxn.jpg[/img_thumb]
I played 2b2t for months about a year ago. I'm not too weak. I ran one of the larger FP bases, and a bunch of smaller ones. It's just that the fun's died out - there's no community-building and alliances and struggle for group survival against other players, it's just a bunch of people griefing stuff that's been griefed a few thousand times already. It's sad. The only challenge is the challenge of getting out of spawn and finding a base - after that, it's basically singleplayer on hard mode with chat.

People are making new alliances daily and there definitely is a group survival against other players. Open your eyes and your find all of it. Oh, and Уоu dо иот киоw ноw то wяітє іи fаке Яuѕѕіаи?

It has nothing to do with being "smart" or "strong".
I disagree that 2b2t has no alliances. Sure, it's riskier to make one due to the paranoia level rising a lot, but there are certainly groups of players who work together.

any faggets want to let a homeless livelion in to their base

Thought I'd share this. Found it a long time ago. [IMG]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/12849832/Melons2.png[/IMG] The building next to it had diamond blocks in it.

Also, anyone remember which direction I would have to go to to follow the old Minecraft sunset? I want to get back to my trail of bases from long ago.
Server is down for me. Anyone else? [editline]29th July 2012[/editline] If you could choose 1 famous youtuber to do an LP of 2b2t to give it an influx of new players, who would you pick? inb4 yogscast
To be honest, I think all those youtube people doing let's play's for minecraft are all incredibly stupid attention whores.
[QUOTE=irishboy55;36987770]To be honest, I think all those youtube people doing let's play's for minecraft are all incredibly stupid attention whores.[/QUOTE] Yogscast, captainsparklez and a few others yes. Etho, Minecraft Muse and a few others are alright. Etho never meant to get big, just help others. Not to mention he makes guides for the most useful stuff in the game.
The only remotely interesting kind of "Let's Play" on 2b2t would be "Let's play at being massive douchebags to everyone" because it's just a normal boring survival server otherwise. I guess you could try to do an archeology series or something, but you'd have to record the entire thing in advance or people would work out where you were and come blow you up etc.
Tried once to do a LP of 2b2t, I'm not really good at the thing but living in spawn on the edge is the most interesting material

The first was a real Fag named urue_101, only reason i stuck with him was because he got me out of spawn and supplied me with gear. The base we lived at (8k from spawn) lasted 2 weeks. He was real hard ass with 'ALL RESOURCES MUST BE SHARED' and he let no one other than the original 4 of us, join the group. (Totalitarian) 2 base i lived at (Divercity) Founded by Omalilymix was the opposite. He didnt give out the coords willy nilly. He was the opposite, almost everything was in the public chests but we were free to have our own supplies. Then one day he moved almost everything to hidden chests in mineshafts not too far, but didnt give coords. Yhen he started giving out coords, xcc2, faalbanana, and even poopboob visited. Base was gone in about 3 months (socialist) I've learned my lesson. You need control, but you need freedom, you must give your residents/roomates control. All the diamonds are kept in public chests. We all use our own ger, minus things like silk touch picks and aqua affinity helets and such. But they are free to keep what they want, the best gear and loot, so long as they do not deprive the rest of us or use all of our materials(IE a full chest of wood) without replacing or at least partially restocking it, they can do what they want. I may be the Governor of the Shroom, but this is a democracy. The only thing i has complete control over is who lives here. Only i have authority to divulge our location, which is the only thing that really matters. (Democracy) TL,DR Mix and match Govt types for best results

Just ran through a portal in the spawn, ran through the nether for a bit, exited, and found a decently stocked house with a slightly defunct (but operational) mob spawner. Feelsgoodman.jpg
I have a base really close to spawn, and I'm surprised it hasn't been found yet. It's been up for 2 months now. Would be cool to have other people work on it, I've cleared a lot of space but it's a lot of room for one guy to live in. Pretty much, if you're on top of where I built and you dig 1 block anywhere under you, you'll fall into this place. This grassy area is just over 68 blocks length and 51 blocks width. Maximum height of 16 blocks. [img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/MCCCXXXIII-a.png[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/MCCCXXXIII-b.png[/img_thumb] Got 133 blocks of wheat growing in one long stretch, and the other side of the fence is a huge, dark area where mobs spawn. [img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/MCCCXXXIII-c.png[/img_thumb] It's like a self contained biome in itself, but on peaceful. Until you go through the fenced off area.
