you can put stairs upside down now you know? just put them under a block by looking at the bottom surface of a block

You can place stair blocks above you now, and they'll be upside down stairs.

People keep asking me to make a journal about my travels to spawn. Guess I'll add one or two.
Today
Going through the nether, made it no problem to 0,0 but nether portal was destroyed. Decided to make one for everyone and went through. After having to travel only 200 blocks from overland to spawn, I started asking people (new guys) for mining me cobble for my path in exchange for food. All is going well but a diamond armour guy started chasing me, I manage to shake him off and run but I had to log off. So I log back in 20 minutes and some new guy was standing next to me, so I gave him a iron sword, bed and some food. The diamond armour guy started coming and I told the new guy to run, he got away. Later was replanting trees and the SAME guy comes after me, logged off and logged back in and he put lava where I was, but thanks to Cuon Alpinus tip on bringing a water bucket everytime I went to spawn, I poured water on the lava and lived. Decided to plant some trees near spawn and leave.
Man, spawn can be a hellhole sometimes. I believe the new guy's name was harmelm_777 or something like that.

Have to be far out enough where new land starts to generate, so he is probably atleast 300k away from spawn, maybe less because of points in between nether gates.

I'm approx 682k outside of spawn, through careful use of nether portals and sailing the ocean.

Its entirely surrounded by water and is in what seems to be a mushroom biome.
The glass pyramid is an enormous chicken farm, and there's also a miniature mob grinder.
They seemed to have stockpiled loads of building materials and food, there really wasn't any iron or diamond around.
I'm too afraid to touch anything, its just too nice.

Nah. Ocean is just another biome. It has the same random appearance based on seed as any other biome, except that oceans can be incredibly vast: easily larger than tens of thousands of blocks across.

It's literally impossible for me to survive 1,5k blocks. I'm a bit capable of walking that far without getting hungry, but I just can't seem to survive.
Punching zombies is hard enough already without any goddamn weapons, oh and did I mention spiders, skeletons, zombies, endermen and creepers will always gangbang on me? Well now I did.

They're not that rare,I've found 6+ and I'm less than 50k from spawn.

Pop into a nether portal (I counted 5 active near spawn last I checked) and find another one a decent distance away.
Collect mushrooms along the way if you find any.

I'm pretty sure most of the nether land you'll see is from before strongholds, but if you go out far enough you should find some.
