Also, if you can find some wheat or seeds near spawn, look for skeletons at night. Once you have a seed, 1 bone equals 1 bread. Used this to get pretty far out (until one of the skeletons shot me)

I first installed Optifine, then I went and installed the GLSL mod (NOT SonicEther's), then I installed SonicEther's shader pack over the shaders that come with the GLSL mod. SonicEther's files aren't updated to 1.2.4 yet.

No, it's pretty dead but I wanted to see if the raiders left anything. Used the hoed dirt but that's it that's left. I left some wheat to grow if anyone needs some, it's in the inside of the building not the outside one.
2k2k seems to be almost completely abandoned...
Most people are at the 'new base' which has yet to be named.
Remember everyone, sooner or later our FP base will go under, so you should make your own base with people you're trusting.
I think I'll make the long trek to found my own base. Probably live in secrecy too.
