Well I'm thinking we could build a base close to spawn but not too close like 2k2k was... if we had builders and defenders we could have it up and defendable very quickly...

You could probably get away making it around 10k, but you would definitely need to have people on to defend it. But once it is found, expect relentless attacks upon it.

nobody constantly attacks one base. the most they'll do is take whatever you left out in the open and maybe break some shit.

They would if they saw it, went inside and got killed. Even if they came and took a little bit, you can expect them to take that to a safe place and come back. If you come across a base and take barely anything, your doing it wrong. Plus they can start spamming the coords in the chat, and then everybody will be coming.

I had a base around 20k 30k, it lasted for 2 months I think, then it was found.
Well anyone who is willing to help start building up a fort should jump on 2b2t today or whenever and let me know. My username on minecraft is zach3397 so maybe if we get a few like minded individuals together and build up a fort maybe we can start rebuilding Facepunch's former glory. Its getting a little old seeing all the Reddit fags taking over.
Honestly im thinking a underground complex with no fancy buildings above (as much as we all love it) just until we can start getting the material in to go out and build huge forts..

nobody does that, you're taking minecraft way too seriously. spawnfags are most likely the ones who would find your base first. they're not a threat at all because their gear is usually iron with a bit of looted diamond mixed in, and if they're dumb enough to attack while you're online they'll probably die and avoid the place since they know they'll get wrecked. if you're offline they'll just loot anything they deem valuable and be on their merry way, possibly spilling the coords in chat. an oldfag on the other hand will probably tnt the place and murder you if you happen to be online.
