That doesn't mean either of those chunks are generated as you walk by. (it could though)
It only means these chunks are from different versions of the generator.

Well for me, I politely asked someone for food, and he gave me 4 pieces of bread. Using it wisely, and not sprinting at all, I managed to make my way to a base with lots of food, and even a cow! So I got pretty settled and I think I'm ganna survive now.

I also believe I found a chest that was put there pre-1.8 because there were 7 porkchops in it, and none weren't stacked. Either it was pre 1.8 or someone just did it that way. The chest also had like 37 redstone in it.
I only got about 30k in the Nether, survived when one of you loyals made, I think it was called the Sanctuary, and I've lived off melons and Nether mushrooms since. Now i must walk on regular land until i get further in blank directions, then temporary base to get non-shit gear. Last time I popped out, I was in someone's ruined base. No one checks furnaces in caves, 20 iron. Left my signstamp on the tower, lots of names. How far does Facepunch REALLY think someone needs to go, to avoid regular x-rays that don't see thousands of blocks away?

I was in the nether trying to get to a point where I could do anything and discovered a sign declaring a path the road to Zion.
I followed the path- a long, bridging path that spanned forever, with walls made of netherack, cobble, and sandstone.
Eventually I made it to a chamber at the end of a dark hallway with a portal in it.
I grinned and slowly ambulated into the portal, knowing I'd finally made my way to some sort of established Facepunch base.
The overworld loaded. Before me stood a set of cobblestone steps. Walking up them, I discovered the obisidan frame of a portal... minus one block of obsidian. It was unlit and unlightable.
