Have you seen how mobs spawn in our base? holy shit, I've made sure multiple times every wall is spammed with torches and fucking creepers keep spawning randomly and exploding our shit. Once one exploded next the chests, DeAndre and I had to pick up all that shit as fast as we could. That's what we get for making a base in an ocean biome...

In all seriousness though, there is some kinda complicated way that involves finding a small space that goes up to y:126, then you need to have two boats and it needs to face f: 1 to f:3, theres a video floating about it on youtube. As for beds, if you right click them in the nether it acts like a suped up TNT, but doesn't really damage you. I use it to clear out the top area when I'm looking for places that go up to y:126.
