also here is my exp grinder. it is two zombie spawners right next to eachother that push zombies using water into a shaft 23 blocks into the air then down to a block until they have one heart left (not one half heart because lag made too many die that way)

The actual math is much more difficult since it's progressive steps, not simple, overall percentages.

The population has tripled since then. It's a very efficient industrial chicken farm which is really inhumane because for all their lives, chickens will be destined to swim, shit out eggs and fuck their family.

It wasn't anti-afk (but there might still be an anti-afk system). Last night the server had a restart and you weren't able to rejoin. Don't worry, I stole most of the zombies before the restart so they wouldn't go to waste.

Edited my post. I got to 7k through a nether portal so 9k is easily achievable.
Birch saplings, (preferably all types of) seeds, sugar cane and a bed.
Those are pretty much all you'll need from the surface before venturing down under, unless you want glass. Of course, iron and diamond will probably be required, as will coal and the usual shit. But these things are what you want to make sure you have when you start building your base, because they should be the first things you work on.
