Shit. I went back on minecraft and the base has been raided and I found a player hiding near it, and he killed me.
Oh man how much fun is getting punched into pits by assholes and never being able to leave spawn because the server lags like hell

kills me again, I revive again

anyway leaving 2k2k not going back worked too hard to get there once don't want to do it again

I really think that this server should start you off with some bread, because with my lag it is IMPOSSIBLE to get out of spawn.

We've all done it and except for people like Poopboob and x0XP, we all are equally screwed when it comes to leaving spawn.
I did it 3 months ago (and actually went to 2k2k) i haven't been with 50k of it since.

Try doing it while a Zombie can give 3 hits in a second while you can't do 1 in a minute.

Pro tip: get a skeleton to kill a zombie, avoid the zed, login when you think it might be dawn and gather the bones and flesh.

I found a pretty easy way to leave spawn, the problem is that I just can't get anywhere without starving to death. Furthest I got was around -1400 -1600.
There's no animals at all for some reason, and there's no grass since the map pre-dates when it was introduced, so I can't build a small farm and hide out.
Edit: Although it is cool to find things I last saw last year, still around and untouched.

the easiest way to leave spawn is to get to the nether portal near the spawn and hope finding another portal nearby, there's one somewhere near, but I don't have the exact location.

Just decided to get back on the server recently, Had a hell of a time getting out of spawn and not dieing/starving, but I finally made it. If anyone sees Riku2211 on, that's me.
after my 3rd attempt which failed thanks to hunger, I managed to kill a spider, find some wood, and found an abandoned house with a large farm
I will stock up and give out seeds to 2k2k farms

There's a castle not far from it, that's where I am at the moment (running straight from spawn, making the first coord higher, that's how I found it.)

Group i made a while back, not enough of my friends played, so i did nothing with it.
Okay here's an update. Your orders are to regroup at 2k2k. It's totally fucked, apparently, but there are wood and animals there, so it's at least a good place to regroup. Work together to gather more resources, and maybe go find a spot to make your new base.
I'm at what many consider to be the best base on 2b2t. It's called Zion. It is the last Facepunch-made base from the Age of Facepunch (summer 2011). It got griefed a long time ago, but the server rolled back a few days right after that and it regenerated. Here are some pictures:
