after a bit of mining i built a cobblestone bridge to keep me going outwards and i hit a mushroom island, so i guess im stuck in a slightly larger hell now.

Might've been me, as I scaled it and spammed cobblestone near the sources of lava, but I think it was a traveller, as I also found freshly planted watermelons beside my goodwill chest. You pop right up above it and you're free to walk for miles. To get down just bring 10 obsidian and build a portal. Make sure your Y co-ord is 126 or you will suffocate.

As soon as I get out of the nether at about 5000 blocks from spawn I have no way of sustaining myself, any tips?
