For some reason, when I join the 2b2t server, after 2-3 minutes of playing my Minecraft just freezes and uses 900MB memory...I don't know what's wrong with it, I tried reinstalling it a few times and I have no mods. This does not happen in Singleplayer or anywhere else.
What should I do?

Find a path where you don't have to jump very much (jumping sucks up hunger). That is more less how I got out of the spawn my first few tries.

Try reinstalling java, and if you're on 64bit, install [url=http://javadl.sun.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=60338]the 64bit java.[/url]
Allocate more memory for minecraft, it's a shit game that uses up to 4GB at times.

Do the FP bases even exist anymore? I've never seen one, ever. Not even one of the old destroyed ones. I never make it out of the calamity that is the ~5000 square blocks of spawn area

No, the last one was at -2k,-2k and it's since been raided to no end. FP hasn't yet organized another collaboration

What the hell, I thought it was hard to survive, I found this stuff near the spawn. I left some stuff because I didn't have any more inventory space, then I threw the worthless away later.

Finding stuff is pretty much the only sure way of surviving, so, yeah, you got lucky.

Me and 3 others tried it. 2 of us (me included) could do it first time multiple times over, no problem. Yet when the other two did it, it didn't work. They tried multiple times, different ways and it just refused to work. We are using same clients etc, so I honestly don't know. Seems to only work for pros
I finally did it! I made it to -2k, -2k and there was a farm with a wheat left. Let's do this! I'm ready.
If it doesn't work, move away 20-30 blocks and try again.
