Was out over 80k into a jungle, on top of a tree. The ground disappeared below me and I fell like 8 blocks to my fate. Seriously, just fuck this game.

Well of course the ground disappeared, you were in a tree. there's no ground there!
Also nodus mark's the cords you die at.
Hey guys, I'm just starting out as well but if you need help, I can try. I found a nice little place with food and some trees not too far from spawn. IGN is the same as my username.
You obviously have access to a silk touch pickaxe, which requires a lot of XP to make (getting to level 50 odd a few times)
Well, I got a silktouch, but I only went to level 22 a few times.
Chance is roughly half of that from 50, but you can reach 22 more than two times as once to 50.
(The disadvantage of low lvl exp, you need more diamond pickaxes)
I use a skelly spawner, a water elevator + 23 fall construction (the bonemeal is usefull for growing wheat/trees/stalks fast)

CJB also does this, it can be handy sometime.

Found this just pask 30k x. Looks man made. Can anyone confirm? It's perfectly straight cut and goes on for thousands of blocks
It's a chunk error, they're all over the place.
It's the border between pre 1.8 and post 1.8 terrain generation.
I see! Forgive me as I've only been playing Minecraft about two weeks, stuff like this is unknown to me. Looks amazing though!
This server was perfectly fine yesterday and now it just lags TO ME ONLY for no reason, I tried other servers and they were all fine.
I type stuff in chat, I see it in 3 minutes, others see it in ~20 seconds, anyone else having the same problem?

They told me passive mobs don't spawn on that server yesterday
Those bastards

Only very rarely close to spawn as the passive mob spawning ticks is 20 seconds long. Most mobs are spawned when generating new chunks.

Passive mob caps are also taken into account when determining if to spawn new passive mobs. Given many people have very large farms of passive mobs, if they are near their mob farms, the mob caps will almost certainly be reached and no passive mobs will spawn server-wide.
Same thing happens with hostile mobs and xp grinders, since the mob spawners are not affected by mob caps.

Me(ragexzon), VonPretzel and Curlytots base.
It -was- a mountain. Still need to add a load of things.
Cool can't wait to find it
I might just give the cords, you're gonna find it anyway.

Building only 50k out? seriously?
I was once 90k out and I saw a raider that killed me and removed my bed. I had to start over
My advice is go a little further out before you even try to make a base.
oh and not telling people your coords is a good way to remain hidden, too.
I'm like 6k out. Took people 2 weeks to find me.

I though it'd be a good distance. Since last time I was only 21k out... Then got raided by someone. I think I'll be moving out then.

his base is probably already gone
How far out do you have to be to generate new chunks?
I'm like 6k out. Took people 2 weeks to find me.
I was 4k out. Lasted a month.
How far out do you have to be to generate new chunks?
If you go in the right direction, it could be only 120k. But if you go in a direction by someone who treked to like 600k then it's not gonna happen in a long time..
It really comes down to luck. But I'm less than 150k out and I'm in 1.2.5 terrain.
How far out do you have to be to generate new chunks?
I've had new chunks at roughly 10K, but the further you move out the more likely you are to find new chunks.
If I die in here after I lay in a bed, will I respawn at my bed?
The only difficulty you'll have with beds is if you're too far away, which seems to be the problem alot of people are having on this server. So if you plan on making alot of outings I'd be sure to bring back-up beds or the materials to make them, just in case.
There is no mob/monster/npc limit
Then why can I roam around at night and not see a single mob
