Woo installed and all, but now the game suddenly freezes or crashes at random. Especially when I'm loading or on the campaign map, battle seems to work flawlessly.

So glad I have BT Infinity... downloaded in under an hour :3
I can't get the game to run in custom battle, anybody else having this problem? I'm veryifing my game cache to see if that's the problem.

I just started an imperial campaign in Fall of the Samuri and immediately lost my capital and almost lost an even battle. What the fuck is wrong with me? Alternatively and preferably, what the fuck is wrong with the new campaign?

What difficulty were you playing on? I hope its not that hard because I bought the game today and I am waiting forever for the game to download.
I think everybody gets guns and cannons.

The problem I'm having with the battles is that pro-shogun seem to have just as many guns as pro-imperial, and that yari just give no fucks about getting shot. It leads to me getting half of my troops cut down by yari, and the other half getting gunned down by line infantry. It could just be an issue with my early game though. Also, the third person shooting doesn't help worth shit with gatling guns in my experience. They advertised Fall of the Samurai with with the three big points of "Old vs New", "Third person shooting" and "Rail system" and two of those weren't really talked about accurately. Maybe all three, but I haven't encountered railroads yet.
My army got massacred by the starting enemy army. My response? I got some gunboats and bombed the everlasting shit out of them.
My army got massacred by the starting enemy army. My response? I was expecting something on par with howitzers, but then the other general's entire unit blew up.
The first person view on the Gatlings and cannons made me so happy.

Found the problem, I had to disable Darthmod, good god Gatling Guns are fucking fun: And for additional fun, you can put the original factions against the new ones.
I really, really need to get this.

He had mostly Yari and Sword Samurai backed up with cavalry. I had 3 Line Infantry Units, a spear levy and cavalry. I repelled his initial charge by a few units of his samurai head-on into my Line, barely, sacrificing my spear levy. Then he said "This isn't fair, but you win. gg." and left. He was winning overall and had a massive army he hadn't used. :geno:
Matchmaking puts you and your 19th century army against people with centuries old technology? I hope CoD: Modern Warfare 4 has cross-game compatibility with Mount & Blade 2.... that sounds so badass.

It's a very flawed idea and if the matchmaking wasn't already bad I'm sure there would be an uproar.

I just went up against a Rise of the Samurai player and got beat. Bows and cav can ruin anybody in the right hands. Though, my loss may be chalked up to the fact that I may be the worst Total War player here.
First battle in FOTS with First-person cannons. I don't think the enemy quite knows how to counter them [t]http://oi44.tinypic.com/34pjqtu.jpg[/t] [t]http://oi43.tinypic.com/bi8qwz.jpg[/t]

26 turns already. Already at the third level of industrialisation, low taxes and big castles means I can repress those bloody peasants who cry about my new things. But jesus christ, I'm getting so much money it's unbelievable. The only other nation on this island is the Oka clan, who use old samurai crap. I just imported my first armstrong guns. :V Also I rammed a ship from behind, and it kept moving forwards whilst the back sank down, with the little men defiantly hanging on and shooting in a naval battle.
I want 4 player campaign coop you bastards :(

Or did you just focus on the technologies which progress your modernisation levels? Something like 8 turns for the military technology which allows the construction of the Barracks alone. I've built commerical farms in all of my (3) provinces for the moderisation boost, but am still 1 or 2 off level 2.. Also managed to surround myself with two vassals and an ally so it'll be a while before I get any more warring done. Oh dear this is getting as bad as the time I made peace with all the AI in Age of Empires 2 and had a massive trade network going on with nobody to fight.

Just reached moderisation level 2. Oh my god the introduction of western instruments into the music. Amazing.

So, from what I've been reading FotS is totally worth it?
So, from what I've been reading FotS is totally worth it?
Defiantly Worth it.
