Are the FoTS units really superior to the vanilla shogun 2 units? In multiplayer everyone just rolls FoTS factions and people that don't have the expansion have to use the outdated regular samurai clans. Is that really fair?

Yes because Katanas mop up Line Infantry in melee and bowmen outrange them. I believe they're also cheaper.
I really hope shogun 2 was practice for Rome 2. I want that game so badly

I hope it was practice for Medieval 3.
Medieval 2 is still my fav game in the series.
We need a Rome 2 more than a Medieval 3.

BRING IT MOTHERFUCKERS
spoiler alert: [sp]they brought it[/sp]
so theres me (saga) and some other Imperial clan against pretty much the whole of Japan
we have lasted around 30 years defending the Crossing from the Shogunate side to the imperial side
Also I managed to Lose 4 Armstrong guns to around 6 wooden artillery without even firing them, I felt like complete shit, but still my Naval bombardment took them out.
I don't like how aggressive AI is in campaign now. Being smarter is a good thing generally, but it's not fun when somebody else already took over most of Japan and there aren't enough clans to unite and rise up against them.
Also join the Steam group it only has 6 people and 2 of them almost never play. It's goddamn lonely.

Play another campaign and you'll realize why the AI is actually awesome. The new campaign AI in FotS is the best yet, because now every campaign is different.
In my first campaign, the Obama clan was made the Shogunal vanguard and ended up being gigantic, and I had a huge final war with them involving mostly full stacks of invasion forces. Now, in my second campaign, the Shogunate factions are located on both ends of the island, with myself and the Imperials occupying the center and fighting costly multi-front wars with many scattered small armies.
thats enough Shogun 2 for me today
Had to Resort to switching to the Shoguns side because me and my allied Imperial faction were completely fucked by the whole of japan.
lets just say the Obama clan and that nagaoka(?) clan own all of mainland japan leaving me and Harado(?) with the Satsuma island place. we own around 2 provinces each, and we struggle to even build an army that is capable of beating a army they have.
so, uh
don't make friends with the British
The HMS Warrior actually kind of sucks.
It's got a 2300 upkeep (!), which means that for the same price you could field 3 Roanokes, with a couple gunboats to spare - not to mention the Roanoke has 50 meters more range, meaning it can use explosive shot and not be outranged by wooden ships, making it far more effective in almost all scenarios.
Plus, the Warrior can't freaking turn, and half the crew is exposed on the top deck. It's fun to watch it just level another ship with a giant broadside, but it's not 2300 koku-per-turn fun.
Fuck yes! Won as Republic of Jozai.
That shit was near impossible even on easy.
God, I want to continue to play my FOTS campaign but I know I'm going to have my ass kicked if I do. That's because at some point I had to choose between being an asshole by breaking my long time alliance or start a war against the biggest faction.
It created epic battles though:

They conquered the territory but they lost 3700 men out of 4700 to do so.
If you do the realm divide and create your own republic, will your vassals still support you?
If you do the realm divide and create your own republic, will your vassals still support you?
It said that "All but your closest friends will become hostile toward you!" If vassals aren't your friends then I don't know who is.(Not counting that cunt vassal that the Satsumi have initially)
Ok, I managed to regain some power. Now I have a Warrior, those small ironclads, Armstrongs, Gatlings, Royal Marines... IT'S PAYBACK TIME MOTHERFUCKERS!

Unlock Kneel fire the first opportunity you get. Then get 4-5 units of Line Infantry, with maybe some Imperial/Shogunate Infantry to back them up. Suppression fire is also useful for messing up Samurai charges. Once you get Kneel Fire you should never buy Levies again for anything other than the cheap upkeep.
Dusted of Empire: Total War again. I feel so overwhelmed by the size of the map on the grand campaign...

Yeah, that was one thing that really turned me off about Empire. Even if you played entirely in Europe, you still had to wait for all the American and Indian powers to finish their turns. You should've been able to toggle different campaign map sizes.
Okay, what?
Edo is pro-emperor in my current game of FotS.
[sp]goddamn automerge[/sp]
When in doubt, build armstrong guns.

Napoleon was a giant turnoff, because it did away with the scope. Christ! I wish they patched Empire with the Napoleon features like they did from FOTS to Shogun 2.
How can they make Rome Total War 2, I mean the first game was from the beginning of the Republic to the Empire. Then the Barbarian Invasion expansion played the fall of Rome. If they just remake it, that'll be awesome too.

A remake is the whole idea. Not a Micheal Bay continuation of the Roman Empire :v:
I was hoping Rome 2 would have updated graphics, better AI, more units and all the cool shit they've come up with since then.
So I was playing the historical naval battle and I lost some how, Most of their ships either ran away or surrendured and I was chasing the last ship with like 6 of my ships but then it said I lost. The stats for the battle

I'm using Darth Mod if it makes a difference, was it just a bug or did I miss something
I've been thinking, I hope Creative Assembly have a bit more fun with the expansion packs like say for instance Medieval 2 Total War: Black Death is a Zombie Plague or Napoleon Total War: War of the Worlds or something ridiculous like that. It could definitely work although I'm not sure if anyone would buy it.
I wouldn't. The market is already bloated with jokes, and i only buy those with a good punchline.
