Third Age Total War is so fucking fun. Just stomped the shit outta some Dwarves with my Mountain Trolls.
Honestly, I'd pay for a remake of Rome. I'm in love with the Roman Empire. I'll spend hours reading every fact that I can, from Roman military conquests to flushing toilets in ancient Rome. I'd also pay for an official Third Age game though. That's just amazing fun.
A Total War game involving two whole eras would be great.
Although it would take forever to create, Rome to Renaissance would be amazing hell if they felt like taking 5 years to develop a game they could go from Rome to 1900
Empire Earth: Total War. Problem solved.
Warhammer: Total War or Warhammer 40k: Total War, latter would bring some problems but I believe most of them could be worked out. I guess most of the same problems would be in WW1/WW2: Total Wars, mainly how you are going to do trenches, fortresses and fighting inside them, how zoomed in the campaign map would be etc, but I think all of those would work. Or if we could improve already released games, I want the fucking option to bombard sieged cities while you lay siege (Not the actual Combat) and adding catapults on the fucking wall!
Empire Earth: Total War. Problem solved.
oh jesus turtling in FotS already makes every battle 'sniper cannons and machine guns vs. spear levies' I wouldn't even want to see how ridiculous the tech difference would get in a game that large
I've already addressed this all you'd have to do is give each soldier rudimentary AI for them to take cover you'd still drag squares for move orders, the soldiers in a platoon just wouldn't stand in lines
I always thought of it as the soldiers would use a constant Skirmish formation [editline]11th April 2012[/editline] I wish there were bolt animations for the french riflemen, They have bolt action rifles yet they still use the Musket/matchlock Reload animation...
oh jesus turtling in FotS already makes every battle 'sniper cannons and machine guns vs. spear levies' I wouldn't even want to see how ridiculous the tech difference would get in a game that large
It'd be like Civ where you're charging riflemen and artillery at cavemen and it would be fucking GLORIOUS
Stone Age:Total War
This is what happens when i get too caught up in fiction...
No fun allowed?
Stone Age:Total War
All of cave will be awed by this victory we have won here today!
Well, this game has destroyed any desire of mine to continue playing. I was really kicking the shit out of the Okazaki in the middle part of Japan, having killed 6 full fucking stacks of Invaders with a half stack individually over 5 or so turns, caused one of their cities to get taken over by rebels and bombarding their single trade port. Then one fucking ship ruined everything. The bastard evaded my fleets and went all the way to Tosa, where I was getting a crap ton of income a turn. I went from 4500 income a turn to 550 income a turn in a single naval barrage against my trading port. What use are coastal defences if they can't scratch a single corvette. My nearest fleet is 3 turns away because I expected I'd see any enemy fleets like that coming.
Barely started playing MTW2 and my armies keep turning into traitors. What the fuck. Then if they don't attack me immediately they join a rebel settlement that I'm about to besiege making it more difficult.

By fleet I mean 1 Ironclad. I leave 1 Roanoke between Satsuma and Ozumi and thats all I need. Constantly destroying fleets of 4-6 ships with ease while 2 Roanokes steamroll their way up the east coast of Japan supporting Tosa.
You guys are missing the most obvious and awesome choice, Medieval Vs Shogun Total War.
My FOTS campaign is going well. Due to investments in morale technologies and defences, my castles have grown into star forts with cannons of death defending them. With barracks/prefectures/etc around to provide garrison troops and happiness techs/propaganda networks I have been able to reform the army and start to punch the enemy bastards back.
I wish they didn't remove trading/gifting regions. I want to help(do all the fucking work) Tosa recapture their island but I can't give them their shit back like in the old games.

Should I install Rome or Shogun 2? Whichever I don't install I'll install later in the month.
maybe it's for the best no more Britain desperately trying to trade me Jamaica for half of Europe
I gave the Papal States the closest settlement to where the mongols spawn in exchange for Rome in Medieval 2 :v: [editline]12th April 2012[/editline] In my last campaign I took Rome, and would send my king to kill the pope, then the election would occur, then I'd kill the next guy, 50 turns later every cardinal had a Piety level of 1 and the pope had a piety of 2.

Swarming Rome with some 400,000 swords is great, almost as good as watching the Pope himself get surrounded and killed by hundreds of true Roman soldiers.
Migrating to England from Turkey as the Turks and basically changing your starting position from Turkey to the British Isles makes for an interesting game.

[editline]12th April 2012[/editline] so he starts off talking about how many Papal troops he has killed, talks about bathing in their blood, warns his troops that he might kill them if they get in his way, mention that the corpses will still be warm once their finished so he can fuck them, he'll complain about there being no beer and finishing off by screaming "DEATH IS MY FRIEND"
You guys are missing the most obvious and awesome choice, Medieval Vs Shogun Total War.
Samurais and Ashigaru's against Teutonic Knights and giant Turkish Bombards (balance not included). Eurasia Total war would be awesome.
Expand the Americas, add in Africa, dominate the world. Fuck I would love to successfully take over the world as Napoleon or Alexander.
The Whole World: Total War
They should just make a really solid Medieval 3 with Europe, north Africa and the Middle East (like usual). Then start making purely content-oriented expansions, each one adding a new region (Asia, Africa, Islands, South America and North America).

Small and abundant territories + different theaters for trade/conquest
Medieval 3 using Empire's scale would be cool. Small and abundant territories + different theaters for trade/conquest
That horrid map and city/fort building from Empire: Total War should never return. Conquer one city, France surrenders/destroyed.
Hopefully there are more custom settlements in the next game, the hypothetical Medieval 3. Like Venice actually being Venice, not a copy-paste large city. Or Rome being all amazing and shit. It would really add to the immersion, that LOTR mod did that well.
