What are you guys running Total War Shogun 2 at? Even with a AMD 955 X4 3.7 GhZ processor, 4 gigs of RAM, Windows 7 64 bit, and a 6970 2 GB I'm having problems especially when zooming in on units.
Are you on dx11 or dx10
Should i buy Shogun 2 TW?
Its fun, I myself prefer FOTS considering I played more Empire/Napoleon then Medieval and Rome
Do you have to start a new campaign if you want to use the Radious AI mods?
Tried FotS and I like it, a lot. The way they streamlined it a bit, a worldmap that doesn't overwhelm me, awesome.
Do you have to start a new campaign if you want to use the Radious AI mods?
I don't believe so.
Its fun, I myself prefer FOTS considering I played more Empire/Napoleon then Medieval and Rome
The only ones ive played are medival and rome those are only ones i own right now.
Are you on dx11 or dx10
I've tried dx11 and dx9, both run poorly
Do you guys have any idea whether or not FOTS is at odds for going on sale this summer or not? Poor college student blah blah blah and all that.
Darn, I just noticed I never bought Medieval 2 Kingdoms. What a shame. Is it necessary to play Third Age out of curiosity?
Do you guys have any idea whether or not FOTS is at odds for going on sale this summer or not? Poor college student blah blah blah and all that.
Pretty good chance that it will.
Fuck you pope. I fucking crusade against Tunis for you and you get to keep it? That's fucking war, I hope the papal states have competent commanders, oh wait! I killed most of them already! I've taken Florence you fat Catholic bastard, and Rome is next. I've assassinated three of your predecessors and you're next. I will destroy you pope, I shall ride your corpse to heaven and kill God too! I shall then reform from the ashes a new world! A world for true English! I have existed from the morning of the world and I shall exist until the last star falls from the night. Although I have taken the form of Symond King of England, I am all men as I am no man and therefore I am a God!
Whoa, I totally forgot I had Medieval II: Total War, installing now.
Darn, I just noticed I never bought Medieval 2 Kingdoms. What a shame. Is it necessary to play Third Age out of curiosity?
I believe so yes. The mod uses the upgraded models in Kingdoms if I recall
Do you guys have any idea whether or not FOTS is at odds for going on sale this summer or not? Poor college student blah blah blah and all that.
Definitely, Considering Shogun 2 went on sale last year (it came out last year) it was pretty cheap I believe aswell.
Oh my god I suck butts at FotS. Time to go back to Empire.
somehow I find Saga the most easiest clan to play as. I somehow managed in my first playthrough to survive as the last Imperial clan along with the Harrado. Even though the Shogun clans were like 10x bigger I managed to defeat all the stacks they through at me, as well as stopping them fucking with my trade routes with my american ironcladds, im on my second playthrough as them now with the imperials beating the Shogun clans. I think its because the Saga clan pretty much gets early access to Foreign weaponry such as the ships and Infantry.
Whenever I play on Hard+ in FoTS, I get to about 7 provinces, then about 5-10 factions just randomly declare war on me and invade at the same time. And I lose or give up. Whenever I play on Normal in FoTS, I win the campaign without getting attacked a single time.
Fuck you pope.
I own both Genoa and Florence, along with Milan and the ex-holy roman castle in between as Venice. The papal army keeps running back and forth between Genoa and Florence, making it appear as though I'm blocking the path of the papal army every turn. My papal standing fell down at a constant rate after I got Genoa.
I tried the Radious upkeep and unit pack mods. As any of you may remember my campaign was crippled down to 500 gold per turn. When I installed the mod my income instantly soared to 11,000 gold per turn. After I repaired my port I was up to 15,000 gold per turn. I've been playing a hard campaign, and until the realm divide I was trade partners with every single faction except the one or two I was at war with. (after the realm divide I was at war with literally everybody, though.)
I killed four popes so far and I took Rome, Naples is next.

No actual problems here. The worst i get is CPU-stutters (60 FPS, but units stuttering) when i'm zoomed in on a fight with more than 4000 men in melee combat. On the other hand, M2 and Rome starts dying on me at 3k in a battle.
Oh my god I suck butts at FotS. Time to go back to Empire.
The problem I have with FotS is I can't make spear walls. And the AI always has cavalry to charge at me with.
Do you guys have any idea whether or not FOTS is at odds for going on sale this summer or not? Poor college student blah blah blah and all that.
Last time I checked it was 15 pound on Amazon.co.uk
The problem I have with FotS is I can't make spear walls. And the AI always has cavalry to charge at me with.
I am pretty sure you don't need to form spearwalls anymore. You get the anti cav bonus regardless.
The problem I have with FotS is I can't make spear walls. And the AI always has cavalry to charge at me with.
try bullet walls instead as long as your armies aren't staffed entirely with levy infantry, any cavalry unit that passes through a field of fire gets cut down enough to make a charge ineffective. My formations mostly consist of a single rank of Tosa riflemen, and if they get charged by a unit of 90 cavalry, most of the time there are less than 10 left by the time they actually reach my lines.
I just read a few pages of this thread conisdering the next TW game. Personally, I think a Total War game centered around late medieval time in China would be epic, like in Romance of Three Kingdoms. Three major clans fighting eachother for supremacy, Wei, Wu and Shu. Besides there were many conflicts and smaller wars between all those factions which is perfect for a TW game. Besides there are many tales of generals from that time which could even provide a decent story or something similiar which could be included into the campaign.
