Total War Megathread V.2: "All of Christendom Will be Awed by this Megathread!"

I'm more thinking about how it'd evolve into something that would require far too much micromanagement and diplomacy and the likes. It'd end up more as a Paradox title and I wouldn't want that from the Creative Assembly.
IMO, unless you want to play "Napoleonics with rifles", a game that reflects the changing nature of warfare due to the Industrial Revolution--particularly in the latter half of the 1800s--would be beyond the scope of a Total War game. (FOTS is an exception)
For example, if you take a look at European infantry offensive tactics at the end of the 1870s, you can see how infantry formations were not only deploying their fighting line to fight as skirmishers with individual fire and rushing by bounds from cover to cover, but also deploying their infantry units in depth, out of contact as supports to reinforce the skirmish line and reserves at the rear to act on contingencies. That's quite a different sort of tactical formation from the 18th century/Napoleonic style of massed ranks!
Ive been playing a lot of Darthmod, and now my Russian Empire controls an expanse of land in the west all the way to Warsaw, with Istanbul, East Prussia and everything behind them under my control, and in the east I have conquered Persia, Georgia, Azzerbijian and Dagestan. I am literally two provinces away from reaching India by foot.
My latest conquest was in England, which was very lightly defended with the exception of London, and because they had "Rich" status I decided to attack that first to stop them from mounting a resistance. I declared war and every single European and Indian ally of GB broke their ties, including the other two dominant superpowers on the planet, Austria and the Ottaman Empire.
And with good reason, because despite the fact my invasion force was outnumbered 5-1 I still massacred them. Howitzers with carcass shells in Darthmod excel at killing lots of men with every direct hit, and since I had a battery of 4 within 30 minutes my bombardment had killed at least 3500 Militia and Citezenry. As I closed in on the walls they attempted a daring counterattack with the regiments guarded by the walls. Their Heavy Cavalry unit was butchered by my Cuirassers, who then took out a Line Regiment while my other regiments slowly beat back their attackers. I lost around 200 men and they had lost every last man. The only survivors were hunted down in the turn after. My Navy then obliterated the British fleet and captured the pride of their Navy, a 3rd Rate.
It seems that Medieval II seems to struggle with battles containing over 4000 soldiers on any graphics setting, is it just me? If it's not just me, are there any ways to fix that?
I can comfortably run about 6000 with mid/high settings and I haven't done anything special to facilitate that
I am running stainless steel though

I've been up at 8000-10000 ONCE where the units didn't decide to lag, though it wasn't the graphics that caused that.
Shocked my loses were so minimal even with the upper hand of defending a sally forth. We were evenly matched with militia/peasants until I dropped 5k on mercs.

My shogun 2 total war game turned into a stare off.

If you mean Medieval II, then it doesn't support multiplayer campaign at all.

What mod is this?
DLV 6.0
Just won a battle against all odds in FOTS. I'm tempted to upload the Replay file for your entertainment. Mostly because i don't want to make a youtube video with a pathetic commentary, but feel like showing off.
Anyway, it was a 1300 vs 3000 as far as i remember and i was forced into offence since they had me besieged and it was the last turn before the town would be turned over to them without a fight. To make matters worse, my general and veteran units defected, so i was pretty scared of what might happen.
I remember winning a battle in FOTS with a single soldier left.
The reason I won is because the enemy was trying to capture the Tenshu in the middle of the castle, but a gatling gun tower chased them off whilst a single spear levy was standing on the other side of the map.
I just had the most PTSD inducing battle in the WW1 mod for napoleon.
The artillery making the most terrifying sounds. Men on both sides getting killed.
Then the fucking AI pulled out Chlorine on me and destroyed half my men.
The setting for the demonstration was the Roman siege of Carthage at the end of the Thrid Punic War, circa 146 – the battle that famously ended with the total destruction of the north African city by Roman forces. The opening shot was a close-up on Roman consul Scipio Aemilianus, giving orders to his men on board a warship. Total War: Rome 2 runs on a new engine that supports the largest and most detailed battles in the series’ history, to the extent of supporting full, in-engine cutscenes. In place of a traditional general’s speech, then, the siege of Carthage began with an actual conversation between Scipio and his men, before zooming out to take in the sight of the Roman fleet approaching the heavily-defended shoreline.
Oh fuck me, I just found out about this franchise, I tried the shogun 2 demo and loved it. What would you say is the best in the series? I've heard good things about rome.

Either Rome or Medieval it depends who you ask, personally I like Medieval better and it got me into the series and made me play the others even though I tried Rome first
I got rome and was pissed at my army failing to move past a tree. Seriously, they just started walking back back forth and then they all lumped together in a massive orgy, running at each other because of one fucking tree. the enemy wasn't even charging or even near.
I would love for the next game to be Rome 2.
My prediction came true :v:
