Do pre-battle speeches only happen in Campaign?
I mean, as stupid as it sounds, I've only played Custom battles. The Campaign is, well, kind of crappy to be honest. It's like if Paradox interactive tried to make Civilization 5. It's just way to complex for it's own good, and there is so much goddamn micro-managing.
Is there any way to take out the micro-managing of cities? I hate having to build buildings all the damn time.

uh just click the option that says auto manage cities
We must wait for Rome II.
Its only a year, right?
I'm gonna have a fucking blast with the beach invasions.
Gonna start as Britannia and invade Gaul, D-Day style.
I hope its just a year. Empire got delayed quite a while. Although I don't think they will pull an empire on us again in any way. That game was a shamefur dispray.

How was Empire: TW a shameful display? It's a damn fine game in my opinion.
The AI was a disgrace on release, the turn times were huge compared to previous TW's, all the factions had practically the same units, naval battles weren't fun, missing key area's of the game like a mission system.

But..but... the total war series are basically paradox games but based more on the combat instead of the micromanagement..
Page king! Time for medieval music!

Yeah, It's a damn fine gaem
It only has a few issues of the screen turning pink now and then, frequent CTDs, diplomatic herpaderp AI, AI blob warfare, fucked up balance, wtfpwn natives, India steamrolling europe. But those are hardly worth mentioning.

Still an enjoyable game, but I'll admit, AI is shit.

My righteous fury can't be trolled away.
I forgot to mention the delayed release, the lies about mod tools and GFWL, especialy GFWL.
I've been a dedicated fan of the franchise since I picked up shogun when I was a kid but CA betrayed me. I was betrayed! and I want JUSTICE!
Still an enjoyable game, but I'll admit, AI is shit.
It's still fun yea but those reasons are why I have hundreds of hours in Medieval 2 and only about 20 in Empire.
Some sucka needs to make a GoT mod.

Ever heard of Darthmod holy shit. It makes E:TW the game it's supposed to be. Vanilla is good, but DarthMod is great. if you can get over the absolutely stupid Star Wars theme in the intros. The Pope and the Missions being removed actually gave you more freedom to play your custom campaign (The best part of TW games) the way you wanted, too
Honestly, Darthmod is the only way to play E:TW. In fact, with Darthmod it makes E:TW one of my favorites. If we want to compare Vanilla between Total War games then M2:TW is vastly superior if you ask me. However, mods make that game even better then.
What does DarthMod change in E:TW? I've steered clear of it because - due to the name - I thought you play E:TW set in a Star Wars universe, which - for me - kinda sucks.
So is DarthMod purely just a name, and has no influence on the mod itself?
it still has a bunch of gay darth vader BS in it
I play with Darthmod ultimate commander and haven't noticed any Vader stuff apart from on the launcher.

Darthmod is named like so because the creator of the mod goes by the alias of "Darth Vader". Other than Vader popping up in the launcher...there's absolutely nothing to do with Star Wars. In fact, Darthmod is so popular because of it's massive improvements to the game from statistics, ballistics, to sounds and major unit diversity from a collection of other modders and skinners.
It's basically a collaborative effort, under one title, of the modding community's top works. It's also the best way to play Empire the "way it should have been".
The creator of the mod is a greek guy whos named dartis I think and he goes by the alias of darth vader on twcenter. He's been in the mod business since rome. His mods improves the game and slaps vader on the loadingscreens.

Not in E:TW's version. I think the one for Medieval does though.
Darthmod doesn't have Vader anywhere other than the launcher for the mod, and the splash screens when you load up E:TW. I think he appears in Medieval TW in a load screen or three, but that's it. Other than that, it's all gameplay changes. AI changes for the better (For the most part) Campaign map changes. Taking tracers out for all those gun shots, Lots of smoke. LOTS OF IT. Smoke that flows with the wind direction, and lingers on the battlefield, which in itself makes the whole mod worth it, New and better sound effects, especially for cannons. Stuff like that

But I don't like the agents that you have to order around. Why should I physically have to send a diplomat, can't it just be implied? I think it would have been better to have campaign gameplay be like EU3 rather than like Civ V. It's just easier to manage that way.
Plus, I find the campaign to be boring when playing anything but mods. If I want to play a game and conquer half of Europe, I'll play Europa or Victoria. They are just easier to manage.
Should I buy any of the unit packs for shogun total war? I got the blood pack because people said that made it cool.
Got me the PC gamer mag which included the Rome 2 Total War coverage.

The Shengoku Jindai or whatever it's called pack is pretty cool. Alot of unit mods also use it's assets so it's required for alot of them.

New Darthmod for Empire is going to release really soon apparently, I'm going download the beta for v8 and try it out
nevermind I'll just wait till the full release, which should be right around the corner
