It hurts my national pride how the entire Iberian peninsula is named "spain". Goddamnit, portugal's there, too, the lusithans were a thing. We even had Viriathus kicking the Roman's asses. I mean, they acknowledge it's the iberic peninsula, there's iberian infantry, so why not have the faction be named Iberians?
Should I buy any of the unit packs for shogun total war? I got the blood pack because people said that made it cool.
I refuse to buy them on principle. Old CA games used to have all their content included from the beginning.
you appear to be playing the wrong game
Indeed I do. It's just sad because I love the battles. They are the best I have played, hands down, in any RTS.
Indeed I do. It's just sad because I love the battles. They are the best I have played, hands down, in any RTS.
Get shogun 2 and play its multiplayer, enough progression to last and the same fantastic battles.
Indeed I do. It's just sad because I love the battles. They are the best I have played, hands down, in any RTS.
Well then resign yourself to skirmish and MP games. Total War isn't for casual players and I don't want it to be personally.
Does anyone know how to fix the issue of turn processing in Empire taking 10-20 minutes? I was having a nice game as Malta then this bug kicks in.
How far into the game are you? Cause I've been playing for ages and I haven't experienced the long waiting times between turns; maybe at max 1 minute but that's occasionally.
If turns suddenly get longer for you, it's likely that the AI has spammed a horde of single units and it takes a while to move them all around.
Scans?
Guess not :(
Don't think this has been posted - http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/07/13/rome-2-lead-designer-talks-ancient-warfare-modding-dlc-and-the-importance-of-working-with-the-community/
Seriously, Darthmod improving vanilla E:TW? My ass. The Ottoman empire has basically mass produced a thousand one-unit armies and spends years moving them all back and forth (literally, sends them forward then pulls them back). France declared war on me on the second round and my superior navy (10 ship strong navy consisting of a good 3 sixth rates, 2 fifth rates, 2 admiral ships and the rest brigs and sloops) lost to a 5 man french navy consisting of 2 fifth rates, a sixth rate and an admiral ship; what the fuck is that? Native Americans are basically invincible, they run faster than fucking cheetahs and my men barely get off one or two volleys before the Native Americans are slashing my men's throats. I'm really not seeing how Darthmod improves Vanilla E:TW.

And it can usually be avoided if you have Instanbul, or the region south of it. Darthmod fixes the Landbridge issue but the Ottomans are still retarded, and sometimes it's not even them that do it. Fire By Rank technology = Best Technology. 2 Units of line infantry, 3 ranks deep, can fire 6 Volleys in rapid succession, with a small pause between the last volley and the first, since the front guys were reloading the whole time, it's a must if you're going to fight the Natives because They. Don't. Give. A. Fuck. And Ship Battles do have a bit of randomness to them. You'll rage quit the instant a tiny ass boat hits your First Rate's powder room

I really, really hope they have good mod support this time around. The reason why Medieval II is still my favorite is the massive amount of mod content. Imagine that stuff in this new engine!

I hope we do get mod tools though, Rome II is going to have so many possibilities.

Thank you buddy.

Shogun 2 and empire were both really hard to mod on release but people still found ways.
Ive never had the Ottomans slow my turns down with DM. It's always the French that do it in my game.
Doesn't matter how difficult it is to mod people will find a way. Shogun 2 and empire were both really hard to mod on release but people still found ways.
I know, but easy mod tools means mods come out faster and are more easily updatable for the modders.
I know, but easy mod tools means mods come out faster and are more easily updatable for the modders.
Yeah but it sounds like they aren't going out of their way to make the game engine easier to mod, its unfortunate but it looks like CA didn't really take moddability into account when developing the engine.

Though the game will probably be just fine without mods, and most of the major modders are very persistent. Plus there may be mod tools sometime in the future, Shogun 2 got the map editor fairly late.
It's probably Sega wanting to sell DLC and waiting their releases out before they do anything. Like, the Shogun 2 map editor came out after they released all the content.
Scans?
Enjoy.
Awesome, anything new or interesting in the articles?
Scans?
oops sorry masturbating over the screens. Guess its a noobish question but how do I scan the mag? [editline]15th July 2012[/editline]
Enjoy.
I think I might go and snap a picture of the back of the mag telling the reader all the formations the romans used aha
Well, fuck. I started Shogun 2 as the Date clan (my clan initially controlled a region to the top right of Japan) and within two years I struck a deal with the Takeda clan, trade agreements and an alliance. I wiped out Hojo and now control 17 provinces. Under the alliance, both the Date and Takeda clan have flourished. The Takeda clan is a force to be reckoned with, and he, too, controls 17 provinces. Only problem? He's taken a vertical strip of land, essentially land-locking my units from crossing his land to get at the other bastard clans. I checked to see if I could buy the region of land from him, but Diplomacy doesn't allow it. What else can I do? Trading for indefinite military access is pretty much a fail because there is no way he'll accept indefinite military access. Striking a deal for five turns of military access is stupid as I'd need to transport my army across the border to my other provinces on the other side of the Takeda "strip" via navy and that would just take more time to do. Is there any solution to this? I really don't want to go to war with the Takeda clan; not because I'm scared of losing, but because they've been a damn good ally and their navy is a strong presence and deters pirates from my traders. Plus, declaring war on them would ensure another 15 year campaign of wiping them out, whilst protecting my borders from enemy clans, and also scrambling my navy (which is currently protecting my frontline ports from pirates and enemy clans) all the way to the north-east of Japan to wipe out his little fleets. What can I do to fix this situation?

I feel sorry for Carthage. They didn't deserve having their city burned to the ground and the land salted.
I feel sorry for Carthage. I've always considered it so sad that Rome defeated every empire in it's way but was eventually brought down by barbarian hordes.
Well I mean they did try to conquer Rome and shit
