I played the WWI modification for Napoleon. I gotta say, I was impressed by the UI and the sound replacements, but not much else.

I was fighting from the hills, so the Brutii wasted all their energy climbing. I was able to out-range their cohorts with my Pike Phalanxes, wittling them down with archer support. Had my cavalry and general (about 200 horsemen total) cut down their Velites. The cohorts then routed, and my phalanxes were able to surround and kill both generals by poking them to death. So we had killed the invading army, with their fleet at the shore ready to pull back to their port on the horizon (you could actually see it from the hilltop), which I'll be setting sail for to conquer Italy. [b]Edit:[/b] Was a 1200 vs 1200 battle, roughly.

Man I really hope they bring back Free-For-All in Rome 2. FFA was so fun,Was funny to see a alliance form and as soon as one turns their back the other attacks their army.

that's something to be proud of

1. I'd recommend Empire. It has a much better Grand Campaign and better mods. Napoleon has more extra features however. (like the new unit replenishment system) 2. I'd recommend Empire for that. 3. You really don't need any DLC for either of them, unless you avidly plan on playing multiplayer, in which case they can add an extra edge. My honest recommendation is get Empire if you want, but you [B]need[/B] to pick up all the others (Rome, [B]Medieval 2[/B], Napoleon, and Shogun 2 with FOTS) during the Christmas sale as they will be dirt cheap like they always are during sale times. Another thing is, while they're dirt cheap it's an excellent chance to buy all the DLC you want.

I love Medieval 2, I just fucking hate the start of the game. It sucks and it's just a pain in the ass. Fuck you Dark Ages.

NANOWRIMO has started and I think I'm gonna use my Byzantine Campaign as the basis for it.

Does anyone know when the next version of The Great War is being released?

Oddly enough Shogun 2, FOTS and Napoleon are probably my favorite Total War games... With Medival being my least favorite. [SUB] I'm so sorry[/SUB]

It's funny, the only Shogun 2 multiplayer game I've ever won was against someone with the "Spreading like wildfire" achievement near release. Kind of sad really, that I haven't won a game since. Even then it was damn close, as usual my main army was quickly shattered, leaving only my general, decked out with his new bows, and a single ashrigu bowman unit. I basically guerillad the fuck out of his army, leading them into traps and just generally raining arrows on them from the forest. It was a good game.

sounds like the hammer is way louder than the actual explosion itself to me which is wrong
