Does the Darthmod for Shogun 2 make the AI a bit smarter? But doesn't end up being a fucking cheater?
Shogun 2 was lame. Rock Paper Scissors units and 2 types of boat: Asian boats and Decent boats.
Play FOTS.
Play FOTS.
But it's not the same
That was kind of the point.
I bought it for a tenner along with FOTS which was £13 so I'm not gonna complain
I got it along side Wargame escalation for a goddamn TF2 hat :v:
I got it along side Wargame escalation for a goddamn TF2 hat :v:
Can I still get my TF2 hat? [editline]12th November 2012[/editline]
That was kind of the point.
Yeah but it's got guns, which if you want a purely melee, bows and arrows kind of thing it's not as great.
Sooo I really loved Empire and Napoleon because I'm such a sucker for muskets. Will I like FOTS? Because lately, I've been thinking of buying it.
Sooo I really loved Empire and Napoleon because I'm such a sucker for muskets. Will I like FOTS? Because lately, I've been thinking of buying it.
Yes. If they backported a majority of Shogun 2's features(1st person manual cannon aiming, 3rd person total naval control, naval bombardments, and the agent system & diplomacy system) it would be the GREATEST FUCKING RTS EVER
It really bugs me when people call the TW series an RTS. It's a Turn Based game with RTS battles.
Which is better, Empire or Napoleon? Deciding which to buy.
Which is better, Empire or Napoleon? Deciding which to buy.
Depends what your more into, tbh.
Napoleon has better battles, worse campaign, Empire has better campaign, worse battles. [editline]13th November 2012[/editline] Honestly, i'd advise you to just wait a couple of weeks and get it on sale during the autumn or christmas sale.
It seems battles get better every new game, yet the campaign gets worse as well.
Well. It's not that they're better or worse, they're just different. Empire is about colonialism, while napoleon is constant war and such.
After playing shitloads of Empire and a bit of Shogun 2, Medieval is just downright exhausting. I don't get it, it's impossible to get anything done.
After playing shitloads of Empire and a bit of Shogun 2, Medieval is just downright exhausting. I don't get it, it's impossible to get anything done.
The main problem I found with medieval is rioting. My towns never seemed to be happy and I'd always end up with massive squalor.

Jumping Empire into Medieval is what got me. I had no idea that you could upgrade armor on certain units until I realized that my sergeants couldn't kill a bunch of peasants with metal armor.

I don't get it, it's impossible to get anything done.
oh man you should see my current campaign as scotland :V After defeating England, I invaded southern Spain, with my mind set on controlling the western mediterranean after 30 or so turns of constant warfare where every faction in the iberian peninsula is fighting all the others, I'm finally gaining the upper hand, with massive casualties it's a horrendous quagmire of assassinations, inefficiency, bitterness and near-useless sacrifice of men
Funny, I found Medieval 2 to be very easy when managing, Empire is a lot more difficult for me.
I found it to be one of the easiest total war games to manage.
Okay that's funky as fuck because i can't make a goddamn ounce of money whenever i play.
Okay that's funky as fuck because i can't make a goddamn ounce of money whenever i play.
tried raising taxes? You may also find that conquering a load of territories might help, war finances war as napoleon said.
Okay that's funky as fuck because i can't make a goddamn ounce of money whenever i play.
Well when I start off I spam diplomats to get trade agreements, send traders to far off lands to get high priced trading goods, build farms where food is needed (check the settlement details), build traders where food is fine, build roads for trade routes, and like carcarcargo said, take territories. When I am building up an army, I always keep on attacking so I can sack settlements, and keep up that momentum so I don't stagnate. Keep an eye on your army's upkeep as well, some Merc units have really high upkeep costs.
Don't build a huge army, win by using tactics. Build lots of economic buildings. Upgrade your units, merge them to keep experience. Generals are OP. Win Medieval 2.
I don't build farms anywhere(cept Castles). Period. You're asking to be raped, horribly, by squalor down the line if you give cities farms.
I don't build farms anywhere(cept Castles). Period. You're asking to be raped, horribly, by squalor down the line if you give cities farms.
Huh? Squalor? [editline]13th November 2012[/editline] But yeah, generals are OP. They're high stat heavy cav units, that replenish numbers on their own.
I don't build farms anywhere(cept Castles). Period. You're asking to be raped, horribly, by squalor down the line if you give cities farms.
Farms are the basis of a strong economy ingame. Just build brothels and raise taxes if squalor becomes an issue.
Farms are the basis of a strong economy ingame. Just build brothels and raise taxes if squalor becomes an issue.
Why would raising taxes help?
Brothels are also bad for happiness in the long-run and give bad General traits.
Why would raising taxes help?
Reduces population growth. [editline]13th November 2012[/editline]
Brothels are also bad for happiness in the long-run and give bad General traits.
You keep your generals in the cities? The field is the only good place for them. Brothels do help encourage generals to have kids tho, plus they get counter-spying traits sometimes.
