bought shogun 2. fucking love this game
Oh well I gave up as Choshu and decided to do a campaign as satsuma, going a hell of a lot better, especially with me focusing on modernising more, kneel fire has made line infantry so effective.
The new Shogun 2 faction is pretty good. The only problem I have is that their portugese merchant ship doesn't have any sail controls in order to be balanced against the rafts.
Would anyone be interested in starting a long grueling campaign with me in Empire over winter break?
fuck france FUCK france i got mac beths command up so high and he got SLAUGHTERED
I still can't beat the Shogun 2 demo Historic Mission, even on easy.
Total war just posted this on there Facebook page - http://wiki.totalwar.com/w/Factions I hope that isnt all the factions. would be nice to see a big mix like Rome did... also have some new screenies!
I assume it will be like Empire, a few large main factions and a shit-ton of minor factions. Probably a simple bit of editing to make them playable too.

It was one of CA's honchos anyway. Sparta and Athens were both distinctly mentioned, I do remember that. [editline]6th December 2012[/editline] Keep in mind, however, it was never mentioned if they were playable or not- just that they would be in the game. I really hope it doesn't turn out like Empire, where you only had a handful of major nations you could play as and minors were off-limits. Modders, as they did with Empire, will have to come in and do all that shit on their own again otherwise...

It'll be impossible to break morale, they're born to fight! :v:
Im really excited for rome 2 :D I have really missed the good old phalanx formations and skirmishing with javelins.
I don't know what to think about the partnership creating Warhammer stuff. I think I'd prefer it if Creative used all their energies in doing what they're good at - making Total War games.
Won't Orcs be incredibly broken? It'll be impossible to break morale, they're born to fight! :v:
In the tabletop, orcs have to roll every turn for an Animosity check, if they fail they start killing each other, I hope this is in the game.
In the tabletop, orcs have to roll every turn for an Animosity check, if they fail they start killing each other, I hope this is in the game.
Oh I see, didn't know that. Long time collector, no time player :v:
And then, using peasants to have them engage in battle and hope they turn rampant and start killing each other becomes a viable tactic.

There are multiple teams in a studio and branching out from Total War is good. I can't wait to see them breathe life into the IP now that THQ is going down.
Warhammer Fantasy isn't 40k mate. THQ has nothing to do with keeping warhammer alive. Games workshop does that for them.

That frees up some spots in the roster.
In the second picture: I'm pretty sure the pantheon isn't that close to the colesseum...
Keep in mind it appears Rome itself won't be split into 3 families any more. That frees up some spots in the roster.
I hated the families aspect of Rome. It really didn't feel like you were playing as Rome at all, and honestly it made me just wanna conquer the shit out of the others. No solidarity at all.
Picture of the colesseum from the top of Rome city hall (half way between the colesseum and the parthenon)

Shame on you CA for not modeling Rome accuratly for the sake of a screenshot. [editline]6th December 2012[/editline] And here's the pantheon from the same building

ugh
Nice broken links
Fixed maybe. That's what I get for not being at home.
That could be some other large temple near the (or really any) Colosseum.
Warhammer Fantasy isn't 40k mate. THQ has nothing to do with keeping warhammer alive. Games workshop does that for them.
I know exactly what Fantasy and 40k are, and I did not say THQ is the only thing keeping Warhammer alive. THQ is just the only company GW bothers to let touch its IPs to any serious degree. I like Total War games, combine that with Fantasy and its all good. Lizardmen here I come!
Keep in mind it appears Rome itself won't be split into 3 families any more. That frees up some spots in the roster.
"Some factions are split into a number of playable families, which bring further unique benefits to their base faction traits. As a playable faction, Rome benefits economically from its excellence in metalwork, enjoys enhanced military development, and can exploit the masses in order to maintain public order. Furthermore, the player will choose to conduct the affairs of Rome as the head of one of three great Roman houses: The Julia, The Cornelia, and the Junia, each of which bring further economic, military and cultural benefits." http://wiki.totalwar.com/w/Total_War:_Rome_II_-_Roman_Faction What other factions could be split in families?
Greece possibly, but with city states. Others with different clans/kings.
Barbarian tribes?
That could be some other large temple near the (or really any) Colosseum.
What? I had no fucking idea there were two Colosseums and another giant temple with that same writing and dome-with-hole-in-the-center. Man Rome was more of an awesome empire than I thought!
