I loved Roma Surrectum II, played a ton of campaigns of it just as the Romans during the summer, I hope that is what Rome 2 will be like. The only problem was that the AI could spam troops far to quickly so expanding your territory became very very hard, easy enough to defend around chokepoints and forts but advancing meant you would most likely be overwhelmed.

One thing that really turns me off Rome is that it's clone city, but it looks like that mod fixes that. If it does, might give it a try.

Oh man, I wish they had released mod tools for Empire Total War. Thankfully the bros over at Totalwar Center will manage to do something with the map. I've seen some guys messing around with some text files and finding out how to add new resources (crops, mines) to the map. I'll wait until I die for that mod that fixes the goddamn regions. Germany -> 5 Cities. Spain ->...1 city WTF?

Darth Mod shit the bed. It corrupted my game so steam had to recover 1234 files but some aspects of darth mod are still there but some aren't. The Ai must sure be because the brutii landed on bloody thapsus on the 5th turn.

It sucks knowing that Darth isn't going to be making a mod for Rome II.

One thing I learned from playing Medieval 2 is that one can never has enough Frankish Knights, they are awesome.

Alright well I'm playing Shogun as Otomo and everything was fine and dandy. I had captured Kyushu entirely and captured the shogunate. Now all of a sudden every other clan has declared war on me. How do I get out of this?

I'm only playing on normal. Are you certain it can't be done?

You should by then have a few professional samurai armies and since you started on Kyushu you don't have to worry about any two-front BS.

I assumed you were on at least Hard or Very Hard. I recommend you beef up your navy and blockade [I]everything[/I] to prevent invasive forces by sea. And just churn out as many Samurai armies as you can, preferably with good armor/weapons and fight linearly down Honshu. Preferably having 2 army groups, one to the north and one to the south, each with at least two stacks. You ought to have total dominion over the trade routes so money shouldn't be hard. It's going to be a slugging match.

I just actually finished an Otomo campaign about a week ago. All you need to do in order to blockade the sea routes is get two Nanban trade ships for both the North and South seas (the Black Ship does real nicely too if you have it). As for your armies, you should have about 2-3 armies just holding the center of Japan, provided that you have met the province requirements. If not, what you can do is just push up your Missionaries to the front and start converting provinces ahead of time. For a somewhat easier time dealing with large clans, you can incite some revolts in nearby provinces to create some buffer between you and painful death. Also, you should have conquered most of the trading nodes and built up a huge infrastructure by now. I was rolling around in about 8k koku a turn, which when saved up, let me train up a shit ton of Donderbuss Cav. Or it is unlikely that he is One of my friends used to speak to him and he mentioned that he was getting fed up with it due to people complaining about updates, and people saying "I want this, I want that" without congratulating him for his work.
