I score on the Hardcore Fanboy segment. I don't have the balls enough to stab my computer with a spear and burn it.

I'm sadly casual

Not necessarily the difficulty, but the micromanagement late-game usually gets to me and I quit out of boredom.
Picked up Fall of the Samurai during the Steam sale.
Holy FUCK are naval bombardments brutal.

Foolish Achaeans think that their heroes will save them! This fool will just watch his people burn!

Shortly after our infantry stormed the ruins and slaughtered all who opposed them with little casualties.
Praise Sparta!
I wish I got into these games sooner so I could have gotten more proficient with them sooner.
I absolutely love em.
Empire Total War is technically the first one I've properly gotten into and loving it so far.
I've got Napoleon, Rome and Shogun 2 all lined up and waiting to be played the shit out of.

The first time I saw an entire regiment of levy spearmen get lifted 50 feet in the air I had to pause the game because I was laughing too hard

I hate the missionaries! I try to assassinate them with my rake, and they end up executing the rake instead. Or sending my army against them to push them out of the country, and I push them further into my borders. They really do have divine protection :v:
Note how I left everything burning.
And I was floating in money too.

I love Medieval 2, you can just mob agents with your armies and crush them under your full plate boots.
Just surround them from every direction then move to his spot.
Missionaries, especially Christian missionaries are so insanely OP in Shogun 2
I remember watching my bigger brother play medieval total war, it was my first impression of the total war series, and he was besieging a castle with some nations king hiding inside. He had cannons which broke the walls pretty easy and his army was soon inside, fighting the troops. All during this fighting he continued bombarding the enemy despite the dangers of hitting his own troops.
And so, he placed the camera down by the cannons to watch the bombardment from afar and the cannon next to him fired. the cannon ball went sizzling through the air and we followed its travel. aaaaall the way down into a mass of fighting warriors which just so happened to be the kings bodyguard. so the cannonball landed right ontop of the king, his flag went poff and he got a letter saying the enemy king is dead.
I know things like artillery killing off V.I.P ain't that big of a deal really, it happens all the time.
But man, i was like 12 and had never seen anything like that before.
Ever since then, cannons have been my favourite choice of artillery!

Trebuchets 4 lyfe
I remember my first time playing Medieval 2. I was Spain, reunified and everything, and I was at war with France and pushing through them. My main army was led by the heir and he had great stats after fighting the war for a while. Last remaining French army and the battle goes entirely according to plan. All their troops are routing as my lines chase after them but they have one last trebuchet unit that hasn't routed yet. It fires one round literally seconds before routing and it launches over my lines and crashes right into my general.
I still won the battle but lost my best general and heir. I've had a hatred of trebuchets ever since.
Complaing about cheating AI in shogun 2?
Use darthmod you fuckers, i can't even play total war without darthmod.
I have to agree, I find trebuchets far more cool than cannon.

god I cant stand Empire's agent system. If they kept the old Med2 system then Empire wouldn't be so fuckin frustrating at times
Not using glorious mortars.
I had one about use a shrapnel round, landed right on a 225 man regiment.
Bam goes about 180 of them.
I got Napoleon in the sale and I just played my first multiplayer battle, it was a really epic 4v4 that ended with me and two of my team mates charging the old guard with Napoleon behind them.
People actually buy elite units in multiplayer? I always give up on buying them when its between like 3 more regular line infantry regiments or an elite line regiment.
Well, about 80% of the line units in that game were elite units. The entire enemy team picked France and they all brought three units of old guard + loads of young guard, polish legion etc.
So I modded my game, and I got about 500 men in a single regiment. About 1/3 of what typically goes for a regiment back then.
I had 32k men in one army.

Darthmod does that anyway. and it adds proper regiments as well as realistic sized ones too.

How do
It doesn't do it too well though, I'm not sure how to set it.

zilla add me on steam, i'll show you some screenies

My game refused to load 40k men.
Might have to tone it down.
Is there a Darthmod for Fall of the Samurai yet?
Fucking page peasant, but anyway.

Behold, my ungodly big army.
Dinner? Missed it. No, there is no stopping of a Total War Campaign as chaotic as after realm divide in Shogun. Only warrior-god Uesugi Kenshin in the Shogun's Chair will allow me respite.
