Yeah, it determines the entire world, not just the chunk you spawn on.

This seed is a goldmine.
EDIT:
Jesus christ, ran into a fucking skeleton jockey on one of the darkened plains. If you're into fighting mobs this seed is ideal.

I'll download copernicus and make a quick showcase-movie of this seed. It's really unique.

Easily the best world generation I've ever had, incredible landscaping at the given coordinates, near one of the many pools at the bottom of the cliffs is a healthy portion of clay. Near the spawn towards the given coordinates is a cavern with iron, don't spend too much time looking for it as I only saw it the once :frown:

Update:
Found 10 diamond ore so far. That's within 2 hours. I'm loving this, also the cave systems are awesome.

I doubt anyone is using this seed even though it's incredible but diamond coordinates can be posted by request.

That overhang near the spawn is an awesome spot for a house. Just flatten it, take out some dirt, and maybe take some off of the mountain, and you have a floating island all to yourself.

probably allready posted, but if you put in -2 (for the seed) it gives you a snowy area near spawn and at the coordinates in the image floating islands.

I tried the seed, "Certain Death".

I spawned in front of a huge patch of clay, so I dug it up and got nearly 4 stacks of clay.

I looked back up and saw some pretty cool overhangs.
