Well, I still used Gaybar! as a Seed.
Sand dungeon at spawn and clay everywhere :v:
Also:
!"£$%!!!
Spawned on a small island with pumpkins.
You are close. The seed is not a set of rules. It is a starting point for a algorithm (which is a set of rules). For example, we will call the seed x, x is given a value of your choice. The algorithm is told to take x, multiply it by 5, add 20, divide it by 2, add 3, then subtract 30. So starting with x as 50 for example would give you 108, while if x was 20 you would get 63.
The result from that is used by Notch to create a heightmap to give a layout for the map. Then shit like biomes are applied, the various layers of rock are added, ores are seeded and more dirt is thrown in randomly. Finally water is added at layer 64 (I think that's the middle layer) for sea level water.
Ok, I have a question, are results of seeds different for everyone?
try "boobies" as the seed, you spawn in the coolest looking pit with the coolest looking overhead mountain.

And done! It's not the best, but it gets the point across, and it's not that bad to look at.

May need to resize it. Didn't realize it was that small.
Commandhat - spawn in a giant desert biome with lots of cacti and gravel.
commandhat - Stone +coal above ground!
I hear a lot of people sharing their own seeds; can we get some cross referencing in here? I can't reproduce anyone's results

Assuming the algorithm is static and not random itself (should be). Yup. The result will be the same. Just remember that minecraft works with obscenely huge numbers compared to 50 and 20.
Almost every aspect of a world will generate the same. Notch just throws in random spawnpoints to mix things up. I can see ore and object placement being different in some ways. But the shape of a world should be similar.

I've walked to 0,0 and I check images. I can't reproduce any maps
Try "Ocean" (no ") it seems to make the water level very high.
Well that is odd. I haven't had time to try it out myself. But my explanation holds true for a lot of seeded generation in computing.
But I need sleep. So no testing :v:
Everybody, create a world with your username as the seed.
Put in "facepunch".

Is everyone going to 0,0 and facing north?
Does anybody have a world seed with a shitload of dungeons?
Just tried /v/

New idea. Carto your maps as soon as you get to 0, 0, 0 and place a beacon so we have a better comparison.
Just tried the facepunch code, I spawned in a mountain range full of holes and is otherwise random and chaotic.
I feel like it does that for a reason.
Im the biggest noob ever,But I still dont get how to use these seeds in the game(Only got into minecraft some days ago)

What if there's nothing interesting at 0 0 but huge cliffs at, for example, 130 282?

I mean go to 0.0 before saying; "IT NO WORK!"

face north as well
Try Mojang, interesting landscape.
also; adventure
Huge hill, that goes up into becoming a huge mountain. Once going up on top, theres a nice view
Found a cow on the top. Wierd.
Mountains; Very cool landscape, loads of trees, mountains to look opon, flowers, animals.
Not to make a big deal out of it, but can you put my name below the bottom of the OP banner, something like "Banner provided by Woolio1" or something? I'd just like a little bit of acknowledgement. Thanks.
0, 0 is a easy place to get too and a central place in the map. Stop making this harder than it has to be. There will be something at 0, 0 I'm sure.
Seed: nether

Oh the irony.

Sand pillar is 0,0. (It didn't generate a sand pillar, I put it there to help show location.)

Done.
Done.
Thanks.
So about that whole carto your map idea. Who agrees? It would make it easier to see if your map generated right or not.
