is it worth it to repair guns so that I can sell them to the trader in the boat? or should I just leave them on the ground in the first place

Usually repairing weapons costs a mass of cash and sell for far, far less. So unless you're going to use something or it's already in a tradable condition, leave it to rust.

I don't know if it's important but I always give the repair guy two bottles of vodka before repairing.

It's more profitable to go artifact hunting in my opinion.
