Before Classic. Cave tech demo times.
I first played creative a week or so after mp came out, then bought it around September time.
When it was still called infdev
Sometimes before 1.1.0 , which is, if i am right, the Nether release.
I remember posting in the MC Megathread that spiders were friendly during daytime (screenshot said 1.2.3_04), and getting some here and there
Started playing on the first public release, saw the first video on youtube and decided to look into it. Purchase 37 bitches.
Around 10,000th purchase.
I still miss floating islands. The biome mod just isn't the same.
I first played it late 2009 if I remember right, then I tried playing it again 6 months or so after that when I didn't really get into it. Got into it the second time.

I remember trying to get to the bottom of the huge floating island map. I was always disappointed when it just dropped into the void.
I remember the Infiniminer thread and they slowly started talking about Minecraft, then the first Minecraft megathread popped up, so I played classic for quite awhile and bought it sometime around early 2009 or something hell I can't remember
I started playing it shortly after Infdev was done, and it became Alpha instead.
I've purchased it after seeing it on the TF2 blog.
I bought minecraft about two weeks before notch started making infdev. I was honestly not wanting to leave my precious indev by that time but... i did once i heard he got caves working
I remember a thread on facepunch about it, really early on. I started playing when there were only 4 blocks.
Started playing some time in early Alpha, bought it about a week after Beta.
I think a bit before infdev, can't remember exactly, but I know it was before Beta.

What a shame for you
Around the halloween update in alpha.
When sponges were added in Creative.
Only recently after i saw a lot of friends on steam started playing, decided to take a look at what it was all about
Around Late May, Early June 2009
A week before alpha ended

If you don't count when minecraft was brand spanking new and only had what is now classic mode
Around June/July of last year, I began playing the day he added Cows (I was asking about them and my friend over XBL was freaking out because he hadn't updated and didn't know what I was talking about).
I first read Notch's blog May 13th or 14th 2009, around the time Notch posted his first post. There was a thread on a forum I used to visit about an Infiniminer clone cave demo that was the primitive version of Minecraft. I've been following his blog ever since. I remember when multiplayer classic hadn't even come out yet, and it was a huge hype when it was finally released. I pre-ordered the game some short while after multiplayer classic was released.
My friend got me a gift code I think last year. Before I actually played it I thought it was over rated garbage. But after I tried it I realized I was just being ignorant.
