When chickens were added.
I think it had "15" in the name.
12 minutes before the Halloween update.
Around august 2010, played the cracked version for about a month and then bought it

-snip- it was way before that..
Probably january-february 2010.
I think late 2010
I thought about minecraft, looked for the site, and played classic
got alpha the same evening
When the only version available was a very early singleplayer Classic. Multiplayer was unheard of, and when Notch said it would actually become reality, I got really excited.
Whenever the first megathread appeared on General Games. I was an OP on venn's server after that, then AndrewPH's.
10 minutes before beta.
friend bought it to me after before 1 week before snow
Alpha 1.0.4 (July 9, 2010)
February last year, maybe January.
Started back when it was nothing but block placing, quit shortly after. Came back when I found out about survival mode.
i first played it when it was just a little experiment by notch, nothing but dirt, rock, water, and lava
this is back in like, mid 2008
i came back in like november 2009 and there was ore and trees and i was like "wtf is this"
bought it in march 2010
Around March 2009
I miss the mob spawning bow in infdev. :sigh:
saw a million threads here on it and played creative
[editline]22nd March 2011[/editline]
got gifted it in the middle of alpha to help expand on ohs world
When Valve mentioned it on the TF2 blog.
This was a loong time ago.
First I played Infiniminer, then one day (I think this is what happened) the creator posted about this new game called Minecraft. This was before creative multiplayer, and I don't even think it was even called creative mode at that point. No enemies, no arrows, just insta-placing items, right clicking to copy an item so it was the selected block. I thought it was okay, but that it would never be more fun than Infiniminer.
Boy was I wrong.
probably more then a year ago
When water was infinite and you could spawn mob that looked like yourself.
Some time before the halloween update.
Just before infdev came out.
Early indev.
Uh, back in late 2010.
My friend saw a video on YouTube and was making fun of it. He was laughing at the rectangle arm and that you punched trees. I looked at the video and knew that there were a million megathreads on FP and thought, what the hell I'll buy it. So I did. Maybe the best online purchase I've ever made?
To answer the question, a month or two before Beta.
Jan 2010, infdev and indev time
I played it when it was first made, way before he even put in sponges. Making submarines and trying to fix them after they were trolled was suuuuch a bitch
Back when the game had no inventory, it was just the initial 10 blocks that you could scroll through.
Around September last year the first update I really remember was the fence posts
When Alpha just got released.
I found it when the only blocks were grass, stone, dirt, planks, and cobble. So I guess the first week.
I first heard about it here on facepunch while it was creative. I think i saw the thread called "Minecraft - Just like infiniminer but free" or something like that. Then after playing creative a couple of months i got bored. Then maybe a year after when alpha was released with survival it started to look interesting again but i didn't think about it for so much. But then in December 2010 i saw a lot of minecraft clips on youtube and started to read threads about it and then i in the beginning of January i bought it.
