a lot of the time fans complain too much and fail to realise that the game is still fun if you just went into it without deciding "I WILL NOT ENJOY THIS"
I do belive i already told you that i atleast am quite capable of enjoying 4th edition, but i simply do not think it is truly a Dungeons and Dragons game at heart.
It's more like a Pen and Paper version of World of Warcraft which is not set in the Warcraft universe.
D&D is all about the RP. Edition has never had any bearing on that, for me.
If you're immersing yourself in a fantasy world with characters you like playing, interacting with people and events you care about and are enjoying every minute of it, you're playing D&D.

This.
I played 4e, and looking back at the rules, it is not DnD.
Compare 3.5e with 2e. It's almost the same, only 2e is way more epic, and 3.5e is great, but it's Caster Edition.
4e is so different from previous editions, it's not even Dungeons and Dragons anymore, all basic mechanics are changed and all classes are this:
Caster with sword, takes most damage
Pure Caster, Arcane
Pure Caster, Divine
Caster with dagger, sneaks.
It's can be fun, but it's not DnD. That's all.

Stopped reading there. Read my above post.

Ugh fuck it you guys clearly play for the combat while I'm here for the RP, which is never affected by edition. It's pointless to argue.

I read it.
Let me rephrase it:
It is DnD, but the mechanics are not DnD.
Speaking of combat, is there any PnP RPGs that use hex grinds that aren't war games with the roleplaying tacked on?

Uhm, no.
The rules affect more than just combat.
And besides that, it's not only the rules that 4th edition fucked up, need i remind you of that terrible perversion of Forgotten Realms that 4th edition brought upon us?
Speaking of combat, is there any PnP RPGs that use hex grinds that aren't war games with the roleplaying tacked on?
HAHA
People actually use grids for roleplaying outside of combat?

Fuck you, I hate combat in Roleplaying.
I like fucking around, combat is not what I play for.

That's what I mean, are there any that aren't basically wargames?

Being a normal human in WoD must suck, since anything that can't mind fuck or manipulate you is likely to shrug off gunshots and throw cars.
Do you know what REALLY sucks? Leprosy.
You know what sucks more than that? Cheap whores.
Do you know what REALLY sucks? Leprosy.
Two words:
Energy Drain.
In 2e especially
You know what sucks more than that? Cheap whores.
Hey, no knocking whores on my watch.
You know what REALLY suck? Oozes
I think according to the nWoD rules, even if you manage to beat a werewolf unconscious it'll be fine again in about twenty minutes.

Nah, they do the good kind of sucking.
Nah, they do the good kind of sucking.
Damn right.
But not as well as suckubi
So I bought Bestiary 3 for Pathfinder the other day. Some cool stuff in there, including a Bandersnatch and MORE AQUATIC ANIMALS. Seriously, who likes aquatic combat? Honestly. That aside, there are these things called Leshy. They are basically Grass pokemon. It's weird.

Bendersnatch, bah, over here we have Wendersnaven!
Bendersnatch, bah, over here we have Wendersnaven!
The Bandersnatch is a CR 17. Don't fuck with no Bandersnatch. Or Akhlut. Akhlut is like an Orca wolf hybrid thing. They are weird.
Wendersnaven are invisible and can't be touched!

As I always say, succubi suck you dry. :q:

No one in my group went into it deciding we'll not enjoy it. We gave it a good run, didn't think it felt right for D&D, went back to 3.5.
Compare 3.5e with 2e. It's almost the same, only 2e is way more epic, and 3.5e is great, but it's Caster Edition.
It's not as flexible for magic but I actually prefer the 2.5 rules for magic. It's much more difficult to be a successful mage but I personally feel magic shouldn't be a common thing every person is capable of being good at. It's supposed to be a rare and very difficult to come by thing.

Putting your dick in a demon never ends well, no matter how good it feels.
Also, incubi and under represented.
So I bought Bestiary 3 for Pathfinder the other day. Some cool stuff in there, including a Bandersnatch and MORE AQUATIC ANIMALS. Pretty much anytime a character of mine fights something underwater he dies.

True, Erinyes really are much more reliable.

Aw, demons just need a little lovin'
All you need for a wild night in D&D is a polymorph spell or two.

What about some illusions?
Love me some sex with something that only exists in my mind.
