Anyone interested in running some nWoD?
Would love to, although it would be hard for me to find time for it.
So what time is the wednesday group playing?
Within an hour or two hours from RIGHT NOW.
Would love to, although it would be hard for me to find time for it.
I never played nWod, but I'll be willing to be the Storyteller.
Interesting, when would you run the sessions?
Just as a question for everyone here, how long do you think it takes for you to finish the average combat session?
I want to get into D&D, what do I order/buy, and where do I get friends who're interested in D&D to play with?

The pathfinder core books, introduce it to your friends, check your locale gaming store, check the people finder thread on /tg/

What system?
3.5 should be a couple of hours for a normal encounter.
I myself have a character done for nWoD, so if someone GM'd, it would be pretty cool. I won't GM anymore though.

broke my own automerge
I saved a badger!
The more I read about the Assassin class the better it sounds, I mean besides the "evil" and senseless murder requirement (the second of which only has to be done once while the first isn't really a detriment) the class seems great; huge list of class skills that include the best of rogues and bards (social+stealth,) great BAB, and access to poisons without any qualms about using them.
Balance (Dex), Bluff (Cha), Climb (Str), Craft (Int), Decipher Script (Int), Diplomacy (Cha), Disable Device (Int), Disguise (Cha), Escape Artist (Dex), Forgery (Int), Gather Information (Cha), Hide (Dex), Intimidate (Cha), Jump (Str), Listen (Wis), Move Silently (Dex), Open Lock (Dex), Search (Int), Sense Motive (Wis), Sleight of Hand (Dex), Spot (Wis), Swim (Str), Tumble (Dex), Use Magic Device (Cha), and Use Rope (Dex).
It's like a deadlier rogue without the extra +4 skill bonuses per level, which isn't exactly a bad thing by the time you get the ability to prestige into this class, to say nothing of those who become an Assassin via Ranger or Bard.
Assassin is like tier 4, it's terrible

Saturdays, same time as as I run my PocketRPG games, so 11:00 AM (ask Nitrowing if that's the correct time, not at home and I'm in the Netherlands.

11:00 GMT-6 to be precise.

Yeah that's 19:00 for me, so after the PocketRPG game is finished (i.e. the story) I'll Tell a nWod Story.
Vampire, Werewolf, Mage, Hunter, Changeling, Gheist, Promethean or Genius?
I heard that Mage is way better in oWod tho.

Mage is always best.
Except for a mix of them all, but i'd guess that would be pretty hard to DM.
I'm imagining a campaign based around a small group of people slipping into a society that is essentially cut off from the rest of the dying world with the intention of just bringing it all down.
Dome cities, man.

Mage, of the three, but hunter sounds pretty rad, I would've wanted to try that.

Added all the other nWod games, choose.

Do it, then.

Oh shit, genius looks rad as hell, didn't know about that one before
Oh shit, genius looks rad as hell, didn't know about that one before
Yeah actually, never heard of that one either, probably because it's fanmade.
Assassin is like tier 4, it's terrible
I'm playing an Assassin. Level 5 and almost capable of causing death by massive damage (I got like 45 on a crit)
Also, I don't think they have to be Evil (Mine certainly isn't), but I think they have to be at least partially neutral.
Do it, then.
I have to write some stuff up.
I did some writing, but that was 4-5am and it all sounds odd.

Even though i think it's stupid, it pretty much directly states that you must be of evil alignment.
But ofcourse, just because you are evil, that doesn't mean you can't do good.

Oh wait this is the 4e version, are you talking about 3.5e?

The more I read of this the better is seems.
The Mere Mortal Law (aka Gilligan's Rule)
Regular people screw up wonders. No one's sure why this is so, but mere mortals have a near-miraculous ability to damage mad science, destroying it or causing it to run amok. If they get their grubby little hands on a wonder, they'll break it and it will explode or eat them. Geniuses don't know exactly why this happens, but every genius knows that letting a regular person near a wonder is like giving revolvers to monkeys: only hilarious from a safe distance. Scientists (sane ones) are included here as mere mortals, and they can be even worse: a group of trained scientists know just how to fiddle with a wonder in a way that will cause it to break down. This further alienates a genius from regular humanity: she cannot communicate her ideas to her peers, or even show off her creations, without risking disaster.
Gilligan's Law, coupled with the Black Box Law, explains why a genius can't just build a teleporter and market it for three easy installments of $19.99 on her Website: a mortal who gets his hands on a wonder will break it, and due to the nature of Mania, every mortal who messes around with it will break it in a unique and uniquely horrific way. Attempts to predict what will go wrong are impossible, and will probably just make things worse.
