Hell no.
I'm still trying to pull a reason out of my ass why you guys need 2 characters.
Can't just use the super evil entitity that will destroy the world if a group of complete retards from many different retarded heritages don't gather together to fight it like only retards can?
What, it's better than most of the bullshit reasons i've pulled over the years.
What's wrong with my character?
What's wrong with my character?
I believe it's the fact that we all want to play completely different kinds.
Like, i want to be a mage for an example, and if my memory doesn't fail me, which admittedly, it usually does, you wanted to be a vampire, and from what i gather Nerts wants to be either a hunter or a mad-sciency man.
That's a pretty fucked up group already, and i can very much see how he is having a hard time to make up something for that.

Simple, have each character's affiliated group have them investigate the same odd occurence separately.
Hunter + Vampire + Mage will never work.
Hunter + Vampire + Mage will never work.
Yeah, all three have totally different interest and are probably better off with the other two dead.
Hunter + Vampire + Mage will never work.
But it's the best group combo
Yeah, all three have totally different interest and are probably better off with the other two dead.
that's what makes it work
It's 2&1/2 heroes, it's perfect
Anyone have any tips for new GM's? I haven't played many of these games before but decided to try to get my friends, who would be into this stuff, to try it. It was somewhat chaotic. I had to make some things up and it wasn't really that organized and felt chaotic. Any suggestions?

Using PocketRPG if that matters.

Try and at least get a general idea of what you want to happen in a session, then ease players into what it is that you want them to do via subliminal suggestion (at least, that is what I do).
It may not work if you play with some assholes.
They're not really assholes, they just blurt out things. Should I do turns, at least in combat?
hunters would never work with vampires, vampires would never work with hunters
Vampires and mages miiiiiiiiiight work together, although there's a very likely chance that the vampire rather kill the mage to protect the masquerade.
[editline]19th March 2012[/editline]
I repipped / cleaned up a bunch of 10mm d6s, they're awesome for shadowrun and any other game where you need to roll lots of d6s
But my character is a nice vampire, or at least as nice as Aerkhan let's me get away with, it seems to be.

I'm pretty sure that breaches of the Masquerade don't apply to other creatures of a supernatural bent, such that if a mage or a werewolf or a changeling or a genius knew that someone was a vampire it wouldn't be a breach. Although getting them to work together would be difficult, I don't think the problem would be them killing each other necessarily. Except werewolves who kill everyone always.
As I suggested before, have the meeting be purely coincidental and if necessary, have some means to force co-operation, like in the same vein as the bomb collars of Dead Money.
I loved Dead Money.
What if all of your guys were forced into cooperation by encountering some truly-nightmarish, lovecraftian-level foe that required a cheesy anti-hero team up.
What if all of your guys were forced into cooperation by encountering some truly-nightmarish, lovecraftian-level foe that required a cheesy anti-hero team up.
Seems a bit too drastic, maybe someone pulling a very jerkish trick in forcing our co-operation, or maybe even more circumstance being what is forcing us to work together.

Hmm, I guess a genius doesn't violate the masquerade just as much, since no normal person believes the stuff they come out with anyway.

It actually says in the Genius book that geniuses know about vampires (They call them hemophages.) and sometimes wipe out entire covens, though just as often they just co-exist without any sort of contact, keeping to themselves.
Woo! now i only need 2473 more!
I'm so excited, once i level up i will be able to shoot TWO magic missiles!!!1!
oh wow page king, in that case i will share with you an old image i thought of when i realized my wizard had 15 strength

Well i have a perfectly fine reason for why my character would tolerate you guys.
Although yeah, a Hunter and a Vampire working together would be pretty fucked.
Then again, they made a Werewolf be pretty friendly to a vampire in Bloodlines, so i guess anything is possible.

Oh man, I've been looking for that one too.
Aight aight, let me elaborate on the characters thing.
I was aiming for a Mortal + Vampire thingie.
Each of you plays mortal by day, and vampire by night.
2 different characters, unrelated to eachother and they don't know eachother.
But it seems you guys want to go all WEREWOLF VAMPIRE GENIUS HUNTER MAGE COMBO FRIENDSHIPS MAGICS HURRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY
So, what now.
WEREWOLF VAMPIRE GENIUS HUNTER MAGE COMBO FRIENDSHIPS MAGICS HURRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY
Sums it up pretty well.
Sums it up pretty well.
Fucking hell, and I thought you guys went for realism or whatever.
Fucking hell, and I thought you guys went for realism or whatever.
I don't see how it's worse than a group of vampire's working together.
I don't see how it's worse than a group of vampire's working together.
Because Vampire's re atleast of the same species, you know?
Like you would probably hang out with one of your own race before going to whatever race you are not.

They don't need to be friends, just share a common goal, there can still be plenty of room for fucking eachother over if thst's what you wish.

well then it seems my plan is all out of the window.
There goes the planning... Guess I'll just copy WereWolf: the Apocalypse or Gehenna or something.
I'm pretty sure that breaches of the Masquerade don't apply to other creatures of a supernatural bent, such that if a mage or a werewolf or a changeling or a genius knew that someone was a vampire it wouldn't be a breach. The whole point is that a mage could breach the masquerade and endanger all the vampires, thus killing them off is safer.
Vampires don't really care for anything except themselves, hence all the politics and betrayals.
In nWoD there are no good vampires.

Even with a common goal Vampires, Hunters and Mages would never work together, they'd try and kill each other off and work alone.

Magic Missile is like a tier 100000000000 use of spells.
