I give it 20 seconds before the players start making hellen keller jokes [editline]2nd April 2012[/editline] Google for some rules, make changes you feel necessary
20 seconds? More like they all make their characters Hellen Keller
I give it 20 seconds before the players start making hellen keller jokes
The idea was that due to lack of input from regular sources of sensory information, their minds would more readily recreate what they imagine from the GMs decriptions... [editline]3rd April 2012[/editline]
20 seconds? More like they all make their characters Hellen Keller
Well, being Hellen Keller in Silent Hill would suck. Then again being in Silent Hill would suck. [sp]Unless you deserve it like me :([/sp]
Well I've got proof the dice gods hate me... (I am crossroads) So the entire campaign I roll nothing above a 10 WITH bonuses outside of combat and got about 6 or so 1s, almost all of which were perception checks (I'm a Drow, my party now calls me "Ray Charles"). I then go "fuck it" and log out and log back in with the name "Totally Not Crossroads". I then make a joke roll (with nothing riding on it). Natural, fucking 20. Of course when it counted I was back to anything less than 10. Does anyone know a way to get the fucking Dice Gods off my back?
Fill a ballpit with dice of all denominations and put some snakes in it to sacrifice small children for the dice gods.
[sp]Unless you deserve it like me :([/sp]
Damnit man, you can't be both optimistic and emo.
Damnit man, you can't be both optimistic and emo.
I can as long as I don't know I can't.
Does anyone know a way to get the fucking Dice Gods off my back?
Buy and train a pound of dice, if you're really strapped get 5 pounds of gamescience dice
Buy and train a pound of dice, if you're really strapped get 5 pounds of gamescience dice
He's using online dice rollers, though.
The dice gods' reach extends to everything random
Does anyone know a way to get the fucking Dice Gods off my back?
Email the guy who runs random.org, he's like the RNG's pope guy, he will know your path.
Fill a ballpit with dice of all denominations and put some snakes in it to sacrifice small children for the dice gods.
I don't have a small child, can I use a puppy blessed by the pope instead?
man i miss playing this game even though i was really bad at it i played with some friends but had to stop because i moved. :( I wish I could play it online instead somehow.
Which one of them did you play?
Uh...I don't know, actually. The newest version, I assume. I was some kind of guardian lizard. I named him Mort Finkleberg, defender of justice and monetary gain.
I'm designing a new System, and I have the raw edges, but does anyone know a nice base to base it on?
I'm designing a new System, and I have the raw edges, but does anyone know a nice base to base it on?
The Warhammer PnP system is pretty simple and easy to learn, since it's d100.
Uh...I don't know, actually. The newest version, I assume. I was some kind of guardian lizard. I named him Mort Finkleberg, defender of justice and monetary gain.
1. You can't be bad at a pnp rpg so long as you're having fun 2. Yes you were playing Fourth Edition which has since been retired. 3. Welcome to the thread.
The Warhammer PnP system is pretty simple and easy to learn, since it's d100.
d100? Errr... Is d20 open source? Or would d10 do better?
d100? Errr... Is d20 open source? Or would d10 do better?
d100 is easy as fuck, since they are percentages. If you have 50 strength and you're doing a strenght check, you have a 50% chance. If you had 75 strength, it's a 75% chance. It's really easy.
d% systems are a roll under system. If you want to make a new system consider building around FATE or GURPS or FUDGE. [editline]4th April 2012[/editline] Actually, you could maybe emulate WoD if you want to make something new too...

d% is easy to use but hard to balance
Also known as "Who the fuck puts pies on the ground?'
Also known as "The Squigs of Baskerville" Or "The Valley of Fear(ing the commissar)" Or "The sign of the Four (Chaos gods)" I likes me some mystery novels.
d% is easy to use but hard to balance
I see. I guess your roll needs to match or be higher then the % the difficulty or whatever is?
I see. I guess your roll needs to match or be higher then the % the difficulty or whatever is?
generally it's a roll under system where you have stats and skills in pretty decent (25-45) shape for example, breaking down a door might call for a strenght test player A has strenght 43, so he's going to try to roll under 43 if the door is decent (referred as "challenging" difficulty), if it would be a flimsy piece of shit the roll would probably be with +30 modifier since it's a shitty door and thus easy to break, so player A would be rolling for 73 or under that. many GMs make 1-5 to be crit success and 95-00 to be a crit failure to keep things more interesting. [editline]5th April 2012[/editline]
d% is easy to use but hard to balance
nah not really, I'd say d20 has a lot more problems dealing with powercreep and higher stats stacking d6 is a fun system, though. i like rolling all of the dice.
Just played another round with my online group. We're giving up on rolz due to the odd dice rolls and its habit of not sending messages. Got around to finally drawing my goblin cleric. I still don't have armor. The thing around him in the 2nd and third pose is a bear pelt. A short-spear is 1.5 feet, and that's what he's holding.
My first session of Vampire: The Masquerade consisted of me running away a lot and two of the other players looting a ship and then blowing it up when they found a vozhd on it. They suggested to the Prince to blame it on Al Qaeda, he was not impressed.
