I now have 59 scrolls of magic missile and 15 other assorted scrolls.
Anyone got an idea of what would be good items for a Rogue with 180,000 GP to buy? Ridiculous items like Rings of 3 Wishes must be consulted with my DM first. I got Bracers of Armor +8, Ring of Blink, and a Ring of Sustenance. We're using 3.5 and/or Pathfinder.
How about a magical bow with a lot of pluses on it?
How about a magical bow with a lot of pluses on it?
That's a good idea, my long-ranged is lacking and I almost got eaten by a giant worm because it out-grappled me in melee.
Deck of Many Things Genie These are the only 2 correct answers.
Deck of Many Things is how I have 24 Dex and Bracers of +8 Armor. Our DM gave us a dream sequence because we were missing a lot of players and we discovered a store where the shop-keep has any items, but depending on the cost of the item, he would ask for all your gold, or ask you to draw a specific number of cards (That obviously increased as the value was higher) It ended up working in our favour in general, but we had one person draw the card that summons the Grim Reaper, which we had to use a wish to get rid of. Wishes are fucking rare too. The Deck of Many Things is a stupid item to own because it's just as 50/50 as flipping a coin. You either get something nifty, or you get fucked over. Not to mention that one of our cohorts drew The Void so we have to save their mind from imprisonment, except we have no clue where it is, only what plane it's on. [sp]Plus, how the hell do you expect me to buy an artifact anyways? It's not like you walk into a shop and say "Yeah I'd like an Orb of Annhilation... uh... A hammer of thunderbolts, and uh a deck of many things. "[/sp]
I was just saying the two things that are notoriously most likely to screw up your party. If there was a scroll of summon tarrasque I would have said that.
Aight, so guys, if you could create Barbarian cultures, what would you name them and how would they be? I thought of Konanite's (guess on who they're based!), but can't think of any other "barbarian" .

Barbarians by their nature are naturally uncivilized, which would commonly mean they live in an area unfit for massive agriculture, or has a wealth of hostile native life. Because of this, most tribes would probably center around either what I mentioned earlier (herd animals) or hunting, which would spill over into more traditional rape-and-pillage barbarians since the ideal hunter and ideal warrior are often similar. You could have Great Plains Indian style tribes that track and hunt large game animals across large distances, or even a Johnny Appleseed type tribe where they plant various fruits and vegetables, only to leave them and return later in a continuous cycle of planting/harvesting. For names, a current campaign I'm in have a tribe called the Osir, plural being Osiri. Off the top of my head I can think of others fitting the tribes I mentioned above; Bovash, Trian, Hayal, Harasti, Val'Kalash, or Korod.

What would I use for trying to get laid, bluff or diplomacy? Or intimidate if she's into that.
What would I use for trying to get laid, bluff or diplomacy? It goes like this: Culture (like Konanite, or IRL German)> Tribe (a "group" of villages) > Village (what the name says) > Clan (a group of barbarians) Note that they're not "barbarians" but like native americans or the european barbarian tribes, like the Goths. They just descend from the ancient Barbarian Kingdoms (Golden Lion, Grey Wolf, Red Fox, Black Bear, something Boar, Silver Eagle, Emerald Snake, something Owl, and I forgot 2) who were led by the Barbarian kings. Their "civilization" had fallen, and instead there is now the Savage Wastes. They're like elves, except all (well most) have their "Totem animal" that grants them special powers and traits, abilities and shit that relates to it. The Owl is a Wizard, Bear a cleric, Wolf a barbarian (class) (axe + light armor), Fox a thief/rogue (dual daggers), Lion is... Fighter? Paladin? (Bastard sword + Medium Armor). And so on and so on. Konanites have a penchant for violence, and such are usually Wolves, Lions or Boars. The "Forsaken" have either lost or abandoned their Totem, or didn't get one at all. Instead they focused on the "pure" form of Primal Energies, and such have classes (to get another name) (like the Civilized) instead of Totems, like Skald, Sorcerer. The "Civilized" are citizens of the Empire. Classy motherfuckers, with mustaches, flintlocks, walking canes and rapiers. No magics, just guns, no totems. They have classes (to get another name) like Gunslinger, Knight, and idk what else, haven't brainstormed on them.
So what did you guys do the session I wasn't here for?
Yeah, nothing really happened, we wandered around the town looking for supplies.
Yeah, nothing really happened, we wandered around the town looking for supplies.
Oh, you won't find any in that case.
Game: Dark Heresy Time: Sunday 15th, 12PM GMT-6 GM: Nitrowing Players: Negrul1 - (Scum) vinh255 - (Assassin) drunkenmoose - (Tech-Preist) xxfalconxx - (Cleric) Maximo13 - (Arbitrator) doomkiwi - (Psyker)
Session Summary: After dispatching with a small group of under-hive thugs and looting their possessions, the group made their way toward a red-robed stranger who was revealed to be a tech-priest. He begged them to find his friend Amos in the sewers below, fearful of what lurks below. The group descended into the sewers, Cleric Brynjolf (Clad in massive feudal knights armor) taking the lead with a 24 foot plummet into the stone floor. The cell encountered a nest of Maw-flukes, two 6-ft long, armored, poisonous, fast, Rogue-Trader-Level vermin. Cell killed them with only minor difficulties. Party then attempted to cross river of shit, most barely making it across the rickety plank of a bridge, while the party psyker warped into the future and then proceeded to walk across the ceiling safely. Then the party encountered a little girl who turned out to be a latent/nascent psyker trapped by an Ambull (RT-level umber hulk). Crew engaged in boss battle and kicked some ass. Session ended with party psyker stealing a grotesque puppet from the cleric and running off with it into the darkness. All-in-all: A good session.
Is Negrull scum or is that just his class?
Is Negrull scum or is that just his class?
It's just a class. I think it's closest to a Rogue in DnD terms.
Earlier in the thread someone game a really cheap alternative to miniature dnd figurines. Like really damn cheap. Anyone remember what the brand was?
