Does D&D cost an arm and a leg to get into? None of my RL friends are into this kind've shit, so I don't intend to get physical stuff, was hoping there was a way to play online.

Maptools is popular for online stuff. Cost an arm and a leg? Hardly, Pathfinder is what, $130 for the core books? 4e has what nine core books or something? So... sort of? I don't know really, I never thought it as expensive. The time versus money is certainly favorable.
To those people in the Facepunch Pocket Pals group, we were hoping to start today with just a character creation session. Post on the group page whether or not you can make it.
ooh a quick and easy dnd session? Can I join?
ooh a quick and easy dnd session? Can I join?
Sure. Look up Facepunch Pocket Pals (FPPP) in steam and send a request. It'd be nice to hear back from some of our other members too.

Wait so is the facepunch session open to public if we ask or are certain people who apply selected?
I'm not really sure why it is locked, maybe seiteki has a certain limit in mind. I'll add anyone who wants to join if they just pm me there steam username. Seiteki, stop me if I'm doing something wrong here.
Hi, I woke up in the middle of the night and am going back to sleep now, quick post. I probably won't run anything for more than 3-5 players ever, so keep that in mind, tia.
AD&D 2e master race
I still have my core books

Can someone tell me why the tenth side of a d10 is a zero, not a 10?
Can someone tell me why the tenth side of a d10 is a zero, not a 10?
It goes 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 00. Most dice wouldn't fit 100 and the 10 is reserved for the actual number 10. I think that's what you meant.
I find myself becoming a tabletop junkie. I'm signing up to sites everywhere looking for more games to play. But i would like to play on an actual tabletop once in a while. Rolling real dice. Scribbling changes to my character sheet rather than using a pdf editor. Books piled up on every available surface. Badly-rolling dice melting in the microwave. I can almost smell it.
Can someone tell me why the tenth side of a d10 is a zero, not a 10?
Because when dice for PnP games first came out they were terrible quality and you had to draw the numbers on yourself. Since neckbeards have fat fingers they couldn't draw a 10 on the small face, so they drew a 0.
Sent it.
Accepted it.
I wanna buy DnD Miniature Boosters, anyone know any good places to get them cheap? I went to a shop and got a Lords of Madness one, but no stores besides that one sell any :| I also customized my large walk-in closet by adding a D&D focused table and drawers, looks pretty nice, just need some posters.

D&D minis are shit, go to EBAY and buy mageknight or D&D minis, look for cheap cheap cheap. Seriously. If you want skellington minis then click here You need to paint them but they're so cheap...
But all I play are the D&D Miniature rules. So I have no choice, really. And Ebay seems to be cheapest, thanks.
But all I play are the D&D Miniature rules. So I have no choice, really. Like, you take rules for a party of 4 heroics and then apply them to a squad/squads of NPCs? Yeah sorry, I've done the whole "Hey guys what if we simulated wargaming with D&D rules" it's terrible. [editline]5th February 2012[/editline]
Fuck for 40 bucks I could have 36 shock troopers or hell 60 Skeletons, damn thats dirt cheap plus there not all that bad
Yeah it's dirt cheap, but you need to buy the bases, then assemble them, base coat them, paint them, then do the actual base. It's more skill + time intensive. Buying a bunch of mageknight off of ebay is good though.
